1 Kings 17:13–16

13  And Elijah said unto her: 'Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth unto me, and afterward make for thee and for thy son.

13  And Eliu said to her, Be of good courage, go in and do according to thy word: but make me thereof a little cake, and thou shalt bring it out to me first, and thou shalt make some for thyself and thy children last.

13  And Elijah said to her: “Do not be afraid. But go and do as you have said. Yet truly, first make for me, from the same flour, a little bread baked under ashes, and bring it to me. Then afterward, make some for yourself and for your son.

14  For thus saith YHWH, the God of Israel: The jar of meal shall not be spent, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the YHWH sendeth rain upon the land.'

14  For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘The jar of flour will not fail, nor the bottle of oil be diminished, until the day when the Lord will grant rain upon the face of the earth.’ ”

15  And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

15  And the woman went and did so, and did eat, she, and he, and her children.

15  She went and acted in accord with the word of Elijah. And he ate, and she and her household ate. And from that day,

16  The jar of meal was not spent, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of YHWH, which He spoke by Elijah.

16  And the pitcher of meal failed not, and the cruse of oil was not diminished, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by the hand of Eliu.
