5 Likewise, younger [people], subject yourselves to [the] elders. And all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility, because "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
5 Similarly, young persons, be subject to the elders. And infuse all humility among one another, for God resists the arrogant, but to the humble he gives grace.
5 And you too, young people, submit yourselves to your elders; and clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,
6 And so, be humbled under the powerful hand of God, so that he may exalt you in the time of visitation.
7 casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares about you.
7 Cast all your cares upon him, for he takes care of you.
8 Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.
8 Be sober and vigilant. For your adversary, the devil, is like a roaring lion, traveling around and seeking those whom he might devour.
8 Be vigilant, and be cautious; because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour
9 Resist him, being steadfast in [your] faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
9 whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.
9 Rise up, therefore, against him, as you are steadfast in the faith, knowing that your brethren who are in the world also suffered these same afflictions.
10 But may the God of all grace, the [One ]having called you into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little [while], may He Himself make you complete-He will establish, strengthen, [and] firmly ground [you].
10 And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.
10 But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will himself perfect, confirm, and establish us, after a brief time of suffering.
11 To Him be the glory and the power, forever and ever. Amen.
11 To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
11 To him be glory and dominion and honour for ever and ever. Amen.
