44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
44 While Simon Peter spoke these words, the Holy Spirit descended on all who heard the word.
45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astounded, as many as had come with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
45 And the Jewish converts who had come with him were seized with amazement because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Gentiles also;
46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
47 "Surely no one can forbid water, can he, that these should not be baptized who received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"
47 Then Peter responded, “How could anyone prohibit water, so that those who have received the Holy Spirit would not be baptized, just as we also have been?”
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of YHWH. Then they asked him to stay for some days.
48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then they begged him to remain with them for some days.
