8  And a certain man in Lystra, powerless in his feet, was sitting, lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.

8  And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother`s womb, who never had walked.

8  And there dwelt in the city of LyÆstra a cripple who had been lame from his motherÆs womb, who never had walked.

9  This [man] heard Paul speaking; who, gazing intently on him and seeing that he had faith to be healed,

9  He heard Paul speak; and when Paul saw him and perceived that there was faith in him to be healed,

10  said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!"And he was jumping and walking about.

10  He said to him with a loud voice, I say to you, in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ, stand upright on your feet. And he leaped and walked.

11  And the crowds, seeing what Paul did, raised their voice, saying in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have been made like men and have come down to us!"

11  And when the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

11  But when the crowds had seen what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice in the Lycaonian language, saying, “The gods, having taken the likenesses of men, have descended to us!”

12  And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, since he was the leader in speaking.

12  And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.

12  So they called BarÆna-bas, the chief of the gods; and Paul, they called Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.

13  And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was before their city, bearing bulls and garlands to the gates, together with the crowds, was desiring to sacrifice [to them.]

13  Then the priest of the chief of gods whose shrine was outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gate of the courtyard where they stayed, and he wanted to offer sacrifices to them.

14  But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard this, they tore their clothes and rushed in to the crowd, crying out

14  When BarÆna-bas and Paul heard of this, they rent their clothes, and leaped to their feet and went out to the crowd, crying out
