33 Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is.
33 Look out, be alert and pray; for you do not know when the time is.
34 It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.
34 [It is] as [when] a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.
34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming-at evening, or at midnight, or at dawn, or early in the morning-
35 Therefore, be vigilant, for you do not know when the lord of the house may arrive: in the evening, or in the middle of the night, or at first light, or in the morning.
36 lest having come suddenly, he should find you sleeping.
36 Otherwise, when he will have arrived unexpectedly, he may find you sleeping.
36 He might come suddenly, and find you asleep.
37 And the things I say to you, I say to all: watch!"
37 But what I say to you, I say to all: Be vigilant.”
37 What I say to you I say to all of you: Be alert.
