1 In those days, when a great crowd had gathered, and not having anything to eat, Jesus, having summoned His disciples and said to them,
1 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
2 I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been remaining with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
2 “I have compassion for the multitude, because, behold, they have persevered with me now for three days, and they do not have anything to eat.
2 I have pity for this people, for they have remained with me three days, and they have nothing to eat;
3 And if I dismiss them hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from a [great ]distance."
3 And if I were to send them away fasting to their home, they might faint on the way.” For some of them came from far away.
3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
4 Then His disciples answered Him, "From where will anyone be able to satisfy these [people] with bread here in this deserted place?"
4 And his disciples answered him, Whence shall one be able to fill these men with bread here in a desert place?
4 His disciples said to him, How can any man here in this lonely place, feed all of these with bread?
5 He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?"And they said, "Seven."
5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
5 And he questioned them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
6 So He commanded the crowd to recline on the ground. And He took the seven loaves, and having given thanks, He broke [them ]and was giving [them] to His disciples, so that they might set [them] before [the people]; and they set them before the crowd.
6 And he commandeth the multitude to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks, he brake, and gave to his disciples, to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.
7 And they had a few small fish; and having blessed [them], He said to set them before [the people].
7 And there were a few fishes; he blessed them also, and commanded to set them before them.
8 So they ate and were filled, and they took up an abundance of fragments, seven hampers [full].
8 And they ate, and were filled: and they took up, of broken pieces that remained over, seven baskets.
8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.
9 Now those having eaten were about four thousand. And He dismissed them.
9 And they were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
9 The men who ate were about four thousand; and he dismissed them.
10 And immediately stepping into the boat with His disciples, He came to the region of Dalmanutha.
10 And straightway he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
