10  And this word they kept to themselves, questioning what it meant to rise from the dead.

10  And they kept the saying, questioning among themselves what the rising again from the dead should mean.

10  So they kept that saying to themselves, and they wanted to know what ôrisen from the deadö means.

11  And they asked Him, saying, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"

11  And they questioned him, saying: “Then why do the Pharisees and the scribes say that Elijah must arrive first?”

12  And answering He said to them, "Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

12  He said to them, Elijah does come first, to prepare everything; and as it is written concerning the Son of man, that he will suffer much and be rejected.

13  But I say to you that indeed Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they wished, just as it is written concerning him."

13  But I say unto you, that Elijah is come, and they have also done unto him whatsoever they would, even as it is written of him.

13  But I say to you, that Elijah also has arrived, (and they have done to him whatever they wanted) just as it has been written about him.”
