13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He was questioning His disciples, saying, "Who do men pronounce Me, the Son of Man, to be?"
13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?
14 So they said, "Some [say] John the Baptist, but others [say] Elijah, and [yet ]others [say ]Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."
14 And they said, Some [say] John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
14 They said, There are some who say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets
15 He said to them, "But who do you pronounce Me to be?"
15 He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am?
15 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
16 Simon Peter responded by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal [this] to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.
17 And in response, Jesus said to him: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father, who is in heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I shall build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
18 I tell you also that you are a stone, and upon this stone I will build my church; and the doors of Sheol shall not shut in on it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on the earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on the earth will have been loosed in heaven."
19 I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth shall be released in heaven.
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.
20 Then charged he the disciples that they should tell no man that he was the Christ.
