3  Mine anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for YHWH of hosts hath remembered His flock the house of Judah, and maketh them as His majestic horse in the battle.

3  My fury has been kindled over the shepherds, and I will visit upon the he-goats. For the Lord of hosts has visited his flock, the house of Judah, and he has set them like the horse of his glory in the war.

4  Out of them shall come forth the corner-stone, out of them the stake, out of them the battle bow, out of them every master together.

4  And from him he looked, and from him he set the battle in order, and from him came the bow in anger, and from him shall come forth every oppressor together.

4  From him will go forth the angle, from him the wooden peg, from him the bow of battle, from him every exactor at the same time.

5  And they shall be as mighty men, treading down in the mire of the streets in the battle, and they shall fight, because YHWH is with them; and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

5  And they shall be as warriors treading clay in the ways in war; and they shall set the battle in array, because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.

5  And they will be like the strong, trampling the mud of the ways in battle. And they will fight, for the Lord is with them. And the riders of the horses will be confounded.

6  And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back, for I have compassion upon them, and they shall be as though I had not cast them off; for I am YHWH their God, and I will hear them.

7  And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine; yea, their children shall see it, and rejoice, their heart shall be glad in YHWH.

7  And they shall be as the warriors of Ephraim, and their heart shall rejoice as with wine: and their children also shall see it, and be glad; and their heart shall rejoice in the Lord.

7  And they will be like the strong of Ephraim, and their heart will rejoice as if by wine, and their sons will see and will rejoice, and their heart will exult in the Lord.

8  I will hiss for them, and gather them, for I have redeemed them; and they shall increase as they have increased.

8  I will make a sign to them, and gather them in; for I will redeem them, and they shall be multiplied according to their number before.

8  I will whistle for them, and I will gather them together, because I have redeemed them. And I will multiply them, as they had been multiplied before.

9  And I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember Me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and shall return.

9  And I will scatter them among the nations, yet they shall praise me in far countries; and they shall rear their children and return again.

10  I will bring them back also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not suffice them.

10  And I will bring them again from the land of Egypt, and I will gather them in from among the Assyrians; and I will bring them into the land of Galaad and to Libanus; and there shall not even one of them be left behind.

11  And over the sea affliction shall pass, and the waves shall be smitten in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

11  And they shall pass through a narrow sea, they shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deep places of the rivers shall be dried up: and all the pride of the Assyrians shall be taken away, and the sceptre of Egypt shall be removed.

11  And he will pass over the narrow passage of the sea, and he will strike the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the river will be confounded, and the arrogance of Assyria will be brought low, and the scepter of Egypt will withdraw.

12  And I will strengthen them in YHWH; and they shall walk up and down in His name, saith the YHWH.

12  I will strengthen them in the Lord, and they will walk in his name, says the Lord.
