Let a man so consider us, as ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Accordingly, let man consider us to be ministers of Christ and attendants of the mysteries of God.

THIS is the way you should consider us: as the servants of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

Byz Nes TR V

Now furthermore what is required among the stewards, is that one be found faithful.

Henceforth it is required of stewards, that every one of them must be faithful.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

But to me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a human court. Indeed, I do not even judge myself.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man`s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

Byz

For I am conscious of nothing, but I have not been justified by this; but He who judges me is YHWH.

For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

For I have nothing on my conscience. But I am not justified by this. For the Lord is the One who judges me.

So then judge nothing before the time, until YHWH comes, who also will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make clear the purposes of the hearts. Then each one's praise shall come from God.

Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.

And so, do not choose to judge before the time, until the Lord returns. He will illuminate the hidden things of the darkness, and he will make manifest the decisions of hearts. And then each one shall have praise from God.

Now these things, brothers, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, in order that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.

And so, brothers, I have presented these things in myself and in Apollo, for your sakes, so that you may learn, through us, that no one should be inflated against one person and for another, not beyond what has been written.

These things, my brethren, concerning myself and Apollos I have pictured for your sakes; that in our example you may learn not to think beyond that which is written, and let no one exalt himself over his fellow man, on account of any man.

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did indeed receive [what you have], why do you boast as though you did not receive it?

For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?

For who has inquired into you? And what do you have which was not given to you? and if you did receive it, then why do you boast, as if you had not received it?

Byz Nes S TR

You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned [as kings] without us; and I wish [that] indeed you did reign, in order that we also might reign with you!

So, now you have been filled, and now you have been made wealthy, as if to reign without us? But I wish that you would reign, so that we, too, might reign with you!

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men appointed to death; for we became a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.

10  We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are despised!

10  So we are fools because of Christ, but you are discerning in Christ? We are weak, but you are strong? You are noble, but we are ignoble?

13  Being reviled, we intreat;: we are looked upon as the refuse of the world, and we are the revilement of every man to this day.

14  I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I admonish [you].

17  Because of this I sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in YHWH, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

17  For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.

18  Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.

18  Certain persons have become inflated in thinking that I would not return to you.

18  There are some among you who are puffed up, thinking I am unwilling to come to you.

Byz Nes TR

19  But I will come to you quickly, if YHWH wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are arrogant, but the power.

21  What would you prefer? Should I return to you with a rod, or with charity and a spirit of meekness?

21  Now what do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and in the spirit of meekness?

5:1  It is actually heard that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father's wife!

Above all else, it is being said that there is fornication among you, even fornication of a such kind that is not among the Gentiles, so that someone would have the wife of his father.

IT is reported that immorality is com mon among you, and such immorality as is not known among pagans, that even a son should marry his fatherÆs wife.

Byz

5:2  And you have become arrogant, and have not rather grieved, so that he who did this deed would be removed from your midst.

And ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he that had done this deed might be taken away from among you.

But instead of boasting as you have, rather had you sat down mourning that he who has done this deed has not been removed from among you.

Byz TR Nes

5:3  For I indeed, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has done this deed in this way,

Certainly, though absent in body, I am present in spirit. Thus, I have already judged, as if I were present, him who has done this.

For while I am far away from you in body, yet I am near you in spirit, and I have already judged, as though I were present, him who has done this deed.

5:6  Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole batch?

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

It is not good for you to glory. Do you not know that a little leaven corrupts the entire mass?

Byz Nes TR

5:7  Purge out the old leaven, in order that you may be a new batch of dough, since you are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

Purge the old leaven, so that you may become the new bread, for you are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover, has now been immolated.

Clean out therefore the old leaven, so that you may be a new lump, just as you are unleavened. For our passover is Christ who was sacrificed for our sake.

Byz Nes V TR

5:8  So then let us observe the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Therefore let us celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, neither with the leaven of evil and bitterness, but with the leaven of purity and sanctity.

5:9  I wrote to you in my epistle not to associate with fornicators.

I wrote unto you in my epistle to have no company with fornicators;

As I have written to you in an epistle: “Do not associate with fornicators,”

Byz

5:10  Yet I certainly did not mean with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to leave this world!

10  not at all [meaning] with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world

10  I do not mean that you should separate completely from all the immoral people of this world, or from the fraudulent and extortioners, or from idolaters; otherwise you would be obliged to leave this world.

Byz V TR
Nes

5:11  But now I have written to you not to associate with anyone named a brother, who is a fornicator, or covetous person, or an idolater, or abusive person, or a drunkard, or a swindler-not even to eat with such a person.

11  but as it is, I wrote unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat.

11  Now what I have written to you is this: you are not to associate with any person who is known as a brother and yet is immoral or fraudulent or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner; with such a person you must not break bread.

Byz Nes V TR

5:12  For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?

12  For what business have I to judge those who are outside the church? But you may judge those who are within the church.

Byz TR

5:13  But those who are outside God will judge. Therefore "put away the evil person from yourselves."

6:1  Does any of you, having a matter against another, dare go to court before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

How is it that anyone of you, having a dispute against another, would dare to be judged before the iniquitous, and not before the saints?

WOULD any of you, having a lawsuit against his brother, dare to go to trial before the wicked rather than before the saints?

Byz S TR

6:2  Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Or know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Or do you not know that the saints from this age shall judge it? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you unworthy, then, to judge even the smallest matters?

Byz V

6:3  Do you not know that we will judge angels? Let alone ordinary [matters]!

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life?

Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more then should we judge those who belong to this world?

Byz Nes TR
V TR

6:4  If then you have ordinary lawsuits, do you appoint those who are disdained within the church [to judge?]

Therefore, if you have matters to judge concerning this age, why not appoint those who are most contemptible in the Church to judge these things!

You have worldly affairs to be settled, and yet you have put men of bad reputation in the church on the judgment seat.

Byz Nes TR

6:5  I say [this] to your shame. So is there not among you a wise [man], not even one, who will be able to judge between his brother [and another]?

But I am speaking so as to shame you. Is there no one among you wise enough, so that he might be able to judge between his brothers?

I say this to you to make you feel ashamed. Is it so, that there is not a single wise man among you, who could settle a dispute between a brother and his brother?

Byz Nes S TR

Instead, brother contends against brother in court, and this before the unfaithful!

Byz Nes

6:7  Actually then, it is already a defeat for you that you have lawsuits against one another. Why not rather accept wrong? Why not rather accept being defrauded?

Now there is certainly an offense among you, beyond everything else, when you have court cases against one another. Should you not accept injury instead? Should you not endure being cheated instead?

Now therefore you are already at fault because you go to court one with another. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather let yourselves be defrauded?
