Now there were some in the church being in Antioch [who were] prophets and teachers: both Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen, brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was [there], prophets and teachers, Barnabas, and Symeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen the foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now as they were ministering to YHWH and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them."

And as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

As they fasted and prayed to God, the Holy Spirit said to them, Appoint for me Saul and BarÆna-bas for the work to which I have called them.

Then, fasting and praying, and laying their hands on them, they sent them away.

Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

Who was very close friend to a wise man, the proconsul whose name was SerÆgi-us PauÆlus, who called for Saul and BarÆna-bas, and desired to hear from them the word of God.

Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

10  [he ]said, "O full of all guile and all craft, [you] son of [the] devil, [you] enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of YHWH?

10  and said, O full of all guile and all villany, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

10  and he said: “So full of every deceit and of all falsehoods, son of the devil, enemy of all justice, you never cease to subvert the righteous ways of the Lord!

11  And now behold, the hand of YHWH is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season."And immediately a mistiness and darkness fell upon him, and going about, he sought someone to lead him by the hand.

11  And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

13  Now Paul and his companions put to sea from Paphos, and came to Perga of Pamphylia; But John deserted them and returned to Jerusalem.

25  Now as John was finishing his course, he said, 'Whom do you suppose me to be? I am not He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandal of whose feet I am not worthy to loosen.'

25  And as John fulfilled his ministry, he said, Whom do you think I am? I am not he. But behold there comes one after me the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie.

27  For those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor the voices of the Prophets which are read according to each Sabbath, condemning [him], they fulfilled [the Scriptures.]

27  For in as much as the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their leaders did not understand him nor the books of the prophets which are read every Sabbath day, they condemned him; but all the things which were written have been fulfilled.

28  And finding no cause for death, they asked Pilate that He be executed.

33  that God has fulfilled this promise for us to their children, when He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You.'

33  has been fulfilled by God for our children by raising up Jesus, just as it has been written in the second Psalm also: ‘You are my Son. This day I have begotten you.’

33  God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

34  "And that He raised Him from the dead, no longer being about to return to corruption, thus He has said: 'I will give you the sure decrees of God concerning David.'

34  And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he hath spoken on this wise, I will give you the holy and sure [blessings] of David.

38  Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this Man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

38  Therefore, let it be known to you, noble brothers, that through him is announced to you remission from sins and from everything by which you were not able to be justified in the law of Moses.

42  Now as the Jews were going out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.

42  Then, as they were departing, they asked them if, on the following Sabbath, they might speak these words to them.

42  And as Paul and BarÆna-bas were leaving them, the people besought them to speak these things to them the next sabbath.

43  And when the synagogue service was broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking [to them], persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

43  Now when the congregation was dismissed, a great many Jews, and also proselytes who feared God, followed Paul and BarÆna-bas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44  On the coming Sabbath, almost all the city was assembled to hear the word of God.

45  And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46  But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

46  Then Paul and Barnabas said firmly: “It was necessary to speak the Word of God first to you. But because you reject it, and so judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

46  Then Paul and BarÆna-bas said to them boldly, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but because you reject it, you have decided against yourselves and you are unworthy of everlasting life, so behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47  For so YHWH has commanded us: 'I have set you to be a light of the nations, that you should be for salvation to the end of the earth.' "

50  But the Jews incited the devout and prominent women and the leading [men] of the city, and raised up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out from their borders.

50  But the Jews stirred up the chief men of the city and the rich women who worshipped God with them, so that they stirred up a persecution against Paul and BarÆna-bas, and expelled them beyond their borders.

51  But shaking off the dust from their feet against them, they went to Iconium.

51  And as they went out, they shook off the dust of their feet upon them, and they came to the city of I-coÆni-um.
