And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded further to arrest Peter also (these were during the Days of Unleavened Bread),

And when he saw that this pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Simon Peter also. This happened during the days of unleavened bread.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

whom also seizing, he put him in prison, and handed him over to four four-man squads of soldiers to guard him, planning after the Passover to bring him again to the people.

So when he had apprehended him, he sent him into prison, handing him over into the custody of four groups of four soldiers, intending to produce him to the people after the Passover.

So he seized him and put him in prison and delivered him to the care of sixteen soldiers to keep him, so that he might deliver him to the Jewish people after the passover.

Therefore Peter was kept in prison; but earnest prayer was being made by the church to God [on] behalf of him.

And so Peter was detained in prison. But prayers were being made without ceasing, by the Church, to God on his behalf.

And while Simon Peter was kept in the prison, continual prayer was offered for him to God by the church.

But when Herod was about to bring him forth, on that night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, having been bound with two chains; and guards before the door were keeping the prison.

And behold, an angel of YHWH stood [there], and a light shined in the prison room; and striking the side of Peter, he roused him saying, "Arise quickly!"And his chains fell away from his hands.

The angel of the LORD stood over him, and a light shone in all the prison: and the angel touched him on the side and awoke him, and said to him, Rise up quickly. And the chains fell off from his hands.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and put on your sandals"; and he did so. And he said to him, "Put on your cloak and follow me."

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And he did so. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

Then the Angel said to him: “Dress yourself, and put on your boots.” And he did so. And he said to him, “Wrap your garment around yourself and follow me.”

And going out, he was following him, and did not know that the thing taking place by the angel was true, but he was thinking that he was seeing a vision.

And he went out, and followed; and he knew not that it was true which was done by the angel, but thought he saw a vision.

10  And going though the first and the second guard [posts], they came to the iron gate which leads into the city, which was opened to them of its own accord; and going out, they went forward one street, and immediately the angel withdrew from him.

10  When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate and it opened to them of its own accord; and when they had gone out, and had passed one street, the angel departed from him.

11  And Peter, having come to himself, said, "Now I know truly that YHWH has sent forth His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jews."

13  And when Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl came to answer, named Rhoda.

13  Then, as he knocked at the door of the gate, a girl went out to answer, whose name was Rhoda.

14  When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but running in, she announced that Peter stood at the gate.

14  And when she knew Peter`s voice, she opened not the gate for joy, but ran in, and told that Peter stood before the gate.

14  And when she recognized the voice of Peter, out of joy, she did not open the gate, but instead, running in, she reported that Peter stood before the gate.

15  But they said to her, "You are mad!"Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, "It is his angel."

15  And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she confidently affirmed that it was even so. And they said, It is his angel.

15  They said to her, You are confused. But she argued that it was so. Then said they, Perhaps it is his angel.

17  And motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he related to them how YHWH had led him out of the prison. And he said, "Tell these things to James and to the brothers."And going out, he went to another place.

17  But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him forth out of the prison. And he said, Tell these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went to another place.

18  Now when day came, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers, as to what had become of Peter.

19  And Herod, seeking for him and not finding him, he examined the guards, and commanded that they be executed. And going down from Judea to Caesarea, he was spending time [there].

19  And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the guards, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and tarried there.

19  When Herod had sought him and could not find him, he sentenced the guards and commanded that they should be put to death. And Simon Peter left Ju-dµÆa and stayed at Cµs-a-reÆa.

20  Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; and with one purpose they came to him, and persuading Blastus, the one over the king's bedroom, they asked for peace, because their country was fed from the king's [country].

20  Herod was angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon, but they assembled together and came to him, and they appealed to BlasÆtus, the kingÆs chamberlain, and asked him that they might have peace, because their country was dependent upon the kingdom of Herod for food supplies.

20  And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country.

21  And on an appointed day Herod, clothing himself with royal apparel, and sitting on the judgment seat, was delivering an address to them.

21  Upon the set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon the throne and addressed the assembly.

21  And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22  And the crowds kept calling out, "[This is the] voice of a god and not of a man!"

22  Then the people were crying out, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”

22  And all the people shouted, saying, This sounds like the voice of God speaking and not that of a man.

23  Then immediately an angel of YHWH struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

23  And immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

25  And Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem, having fulfilled their ministry, taking along with [them] John also, whose surname was Mark.

25  Then Barnabas and Saul, having completed the ministry, returned from Jerusalem, bringing with them John, who was surnamed Mark.
