And Abraham was old, well stricken in age; and YHWH had blessed Abraham in all things.

And Abraam was old, advanced in days, and the Lord blessed Abraam in all things.

Now Abraham was old and of many days. And the Lord had blessed him in all things.

And the servant said unto him: 'Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land; must I needs bring thy son back unto the land from whence thou camest?'

And the servant said to him, Shall I carry back thy son to the land whence thou camest forth, if haply the woman should not be willing to return with me to this land?

The servant responded, “If the woman is not willing to come with me into this land, must I lead your son back to the place from which you departed?”

And Abraham said unto him: 'Beware thou that thou bring not my son back thither.

And Abraam said to him, Take heed to thyself that thou carry not my son back thither.

And Abraham said: “Beware that you never lead my son back to that place.

YHWH, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house, and from the land of my nativity, and who spoke unto me, and who swore unto me, saying: Unto thy seed will I give this land; He will send His angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife for my son from thence.

The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my nativity, who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ‘To your offspring I will give this land,’ himself will send his Angel before you, and you will take from there a wife for my son.

But if the woman is not willing to follow you, you will not be held by the oath. Only do not lead my son back to that place.”

And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.

Therefore, the servant placed his hand under the thigh of Abraham, his lord, and he swore to him on his word.

10  And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master, and departed; having all goodly things of his master's in his hand; and he arose, and went to Aram-naharaim, unto the city of Nahor.

14  So let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say: Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say: Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also; let the same be she that Thou hast appointed for Thy servant, even for Isaac; and thereby shall I know that Thou hast shown kindness unto my master.'

14  And it shall be, the virgin to whomsoever I shall say, Incline thy water-pot, that I may drink, and she shall say, Drink thou, and I will give thy camels drink, until they shall have done drinking—even this one thou hast prepared for thy servant Isaac, and hereby shall I know that thou hast dealt mercifully with my master Abraam.

14  Therefore, the girl to whom I will say, ‘Tip your pitcher, so that I may drink,’ and she will respond, ‘Drink. In fact, I will give your camels a drink also,’ the same one is she whom you have prepared for your servant Isaac. And by this, I will understand that you have shown mercy to my lord.”

15  And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

15  But he had not yet completed these words within himself, when, behold, Rebekah went out, the daughter of Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, the brother of Abraham, having a pitcher on her shoulder.

16  And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her; and she went down to the fountain, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

16  She was an exceedingly elegant girl, and a most beautiful virgin, and unknown by man. And she descended to the spring, and she filled her pitcher, and then was returning.

18  and she said, Drink, Sir; and she hasted, and let down the pitcher upon her arm, and gave him to drink, till he ceased drinking.

18  And she responded, “Drink, my lord.” And she quickly brought down the pitcher on her arm, and she gave him a drink.

19  And when she had done giving him drink, she said: 'I will draw for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.'

19  And she said, I will also draw water for thy camels, till they shall all have drunk.

19  And after he drank, she added, “In fact, I will draw water for your camels also, until they all drink.”

20  And she hastened, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.

20  And pouring out the pitcher into the troughs, she ran back to the well to draw water; and having drawn, she gave it to all the camels.

20  So she hastened and emptied her pitcher into the trough and ran again to the well to draw water, and she drew water for all his camels.

21  And the man looked stedfastly on her; holding his peace, to know whether YHWH had made his journey prosperous or not.

21  But he was contemplating her silently, wanting to know whether the Lord had caused his journey to prosper or not

21  And as the man watered his camels he scrutinized her, and waited to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
