Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Before the feast day of the Passover, Jesus knew that the hour was approaching when he would pass from this world to the Father. And since he had always loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

And when the meal had taken place, when the devil had now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,

Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to dry [them] with the towel with which He was girded.

Next he put water into a shallow bowl, and he began to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe them with the towel with which he was wrapped.

After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You wash my feet?"

When he came to Simon Peter, Simon said to him, You, my Lord, are you going to wash my feet?

Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you shall know after this."

Peter said to Him, "You shall never wash my feet!"Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me."

Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

Then Simon Peter said to him, You will never wash my feet. Jesus said to him, If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.

10  Jesus said to him, "He that is bathed need only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you."

18  I am not speaking about all of you. I know those whom I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me shall lift up his heel against me.’

19  From now [on] I tell you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe that I AM.

25  So that disciple leaned himself on the breast of Jesus, and said to him, My Lord, who is he?

29  For some of them thought, because the purse was with Judas, that he ordered him to buy what was needed for the feast; or to give something to the poor.

30  Therefore having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.

30  He then having received the sop went out straightway: and it was night.

30  Judas then received the bread and went outside immediately; it was night when he went out.

31  When he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in Him.

31  When therefore he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him;

31  Jesus then said, Now the Son of man is glorified, and God is glorified by him.

14:1  "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and I will receive you unto Myself; so that where I am, there you may be also.

14:5  Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"

14:6  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

14:7  "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now [on] you know Him and you have seen Him."

If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

14:8  Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us."

14:9  Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He that has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?

14:10  Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words which I speak to you I do not speak on My own [authority]; but the Father who abides in Me does the works.

10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

14:11  Believe Me that I [am] in the Father and the Father [is ]in Me, but if not, believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

14:23  Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and we will make [Our] home with him.

14:26  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and will remind you [of] all things which I said to you.

26  But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

26  But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will suggest to you everything whatsoever that I have said to you.

14:27  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

14:28  You have heard that I said to you, 'I am going away and coming [back] to you.' If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I.

28  Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.

28  You heard that I told you, I am going away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I am going to my Father; for my Father is greater than I.

14:31  But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father has charged Me, thus I do. Rise up, let us go from here.

15:1  "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

15:2  Every branch in Me which does not bear fruit He takes away; and every [branch] which bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

15:4  Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit on its own, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.

Remain with me and I with you. Just as a branch cannot give fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine; even so you cannot, unless you remain with me.

15:5  I am the vine, you [are] the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; because apart from Me you can do nothing.

15:6  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.

Unless a man remains with me, he will be cast outside, like a branch which is withered; which they pick up and throw into the fire to be burned.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

15:7  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what ever you may desire, and it shall be done for you.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

If you remain with me, and my words remain with you, whatever you ask shall be done for you.

15:8  By this My Father is glorified, that you may bear much fruit; and you will become My disciples.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and [so] shall ye be my disciples.

In this the Father will be glorified, that you bear abundant fruit, and be my disciples.

15:9  "Just as the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

15:11  These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may abide in you, and that your joy may be full.

15:13  Greater love has no one than this, that one should lay down his life on behalf of his friends.

13  No one has a greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.

15  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

15:16  You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you may ask the Father in My name He may give to you.

16  Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

16  You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you.

15:20  Remember the word which I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

15:21  But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

15:22  If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse concerning their sin.

16:2  They will excommunicate you; but a time is coming when everyone who kills you will think that he is offering God a service.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.

They will put you out of the synagogues. But the hour is coming when everyone who puts you to death will consider that he is offering an excellent service to God.

16:4  But these things I have spoken to you, so that when the time comes, you may remember them, that I told you. But these things I did not say to you from the beginning, because I was with you.

16:5  "But now I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?'

16:7  Nevertheless I speak the truth to you. It is profitable for you that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

But I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I am going. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But when I will have gone away, I will send him to you.

16:8  And when He comes, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment

And when he has arrived, he will argue against the world, about sin and about justice and about judgment

And when he is come, he will rebuke the world concerning sin, concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.

16:9  of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

about sin, indeed, because they have not believed in me;

16:12  I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

16:13  However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own [authority], but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will announce to you things to come.

13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.

13  But when the Spirit of truth has arrived, he will teach the whole truth to you. For he will not be speaking from himself. Instead, whatever he will hear, he will speak. And he will announce to you the things that are to come.
