While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice [came] out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

And while he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud overshadowed them. And behold, there was a voice from the cloud, saying: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”

And while he was speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud saying, This is my beloved Son, I am pleased with him; hear him.

And when the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and they were greatly afraid.

And the disciples, hearing this, fell prone on their face, and they were very afraid.

When the disciples heard it, they threw themselves on their faces, and they were greatly frightened.

14  And when they came to the crowd, a man approached Him, kneeling to Him, and saying,

14  And when he had arrived at the multitude, a man approached him, falling to his knees before him, saying: “Lord, take pity on my son, for he is an epileptic, and he suffers harm. For he frequently falls into fire, and often also into water.

15  "Lord, have pity on my son, for he is moonstruck and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

18  And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out from him; and the boy was healed from that very hour.

19  Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?"

20  So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith like a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Be moved from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible for you.

20  And he saith unto them, Because of your little faith: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

20  Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief. Amen I say to you, certainly, if you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you.

24  And when they came to Capernaum, those who collect two coins of silver as headtax came to Peter and said to him, Would not your master give his two coins?

27  Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish coming up. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a coin; taking that, give it to them for Me and you."

27  But, lest we cause them to stumble, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a shekel: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

27  But so that we may not become an obstacle to them: go to the sea, and cast in a hook, and take the first fish that is brought up, and when you have opened its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take it and give it to them, for me and for you.”

18:1  At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is [the ]greater in the kingdom of heaven?"

In that hour, the disciples drew near to Jesus, saying, “Whom do you consider to be greater in the kingdom of heaven?”

AT that very hour the disciples came up to Jesus and said, Who is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

18:3  and said, "Assuredly I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

And he said: “Amen I say to you, unless you change and become like little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

18:4  Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Whoever therefore will humble himself like this little boy, shall be great in the kingdom of heaven.

18:5  And whoever receives one such little child in My name, receives Me.

And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me

And he who will welcome one like this little boy, in my name, welcomes me.

18:6  "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone be hanged on his neck, and he be drowned in the depth of the sea.

But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and [that] he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

18:7  Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man through whom the offense comes!

Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh!

Woe to a world that leads people astray! Although it is necessary for temptations to arise, nevertheless: Woe to that man through whom temptation arises!

18:8  And if your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut them off and cast [them] from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, than having two hands or two feet, to be thrown into the eternal fire.

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

18:9  And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes, to be thrown into the fiery hell.

And if thine eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

And if your eye offends you, remove it and throw it away from you; it is better for you to go through life with one eye, rather than having two eyes and fall into the gehenna of fire.

18:10  "See that you do not despise one of these little [ones], for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

10  See to it that you do not despise even one of these little ones. For I say to you, that their Angels in heaven continually look upon the face of my Father, who is in heaven.

18:11  For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost.

18:12  What do you think? If a certain man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains, and go and search for the [one ]gone astray?

12  How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray?

12  How does it seem to you? If someone has one hundred sheep, and if one of them has gone astray, should he not leave behind the ninety-nine in the mountains, and go out to seek what has gone astray?

18:13  And if he happens to find it, assuredly I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which did not go astray.

13  And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

18:14  Thus it is not the will before your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

14  Even so, it is not the will before your Father, who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should be lost.

18:15  "And if your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have won your brother.

18:17  But if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the assembly. But if he refuses even to hear the assembly, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax collector.

17  And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.

17  And if he will not listen to them, tell the Church. But if he will not listen to the Church, let him be to you like the pagan and the tax collector.

18:18  Assuredly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.

18:19  Again, assuredly I say to you that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

19  Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.

19  Again I say to you, that if two of those among you have agreed on earth, about anything whatsoever that they have requested, it shall be done for them by my Father, who is in heaven.

18:21  Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"

21  Then Peter, drawing near to him, said: “Lord, how many times shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Even seven times?”

18:22  Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy- seven [times.]

22  Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.

18:23  Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

18:24  And when he began to settle up, one debtor was brought to him [owing] ten thousand talents.

18:26  Therefore falling down before him, the servant said, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will repay everything to you.'

18:27  "And having compassion, the master of that servant released him, and forgave him the loan.

18:33  Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, as I also had compassion on you?'

18:34  "And being angered, his master handed him over to the tormentors until he should pay all that was owed to him.

19:1  Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, that He with from Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.

WHEN Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came to the border of Judaea, at the crossing of the Jordan.

19:3  The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?"

And the Pharisees approached him, testing him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to separate from his wife, no matter what the cause?”

19:4  And He answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,'

And he said to them in response, “Have you not read that he who made man from the beginning, made them male and female?” And he said

But he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he who made from the beginning, made them male and female?

19:5  and He said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?

“For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh.

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

19:6  So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

Henceforth they are not two, but one body; therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.

19:7  They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?"

19:8  He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been thus.

He saith unto them, Moses for your hardness of heart suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it hath not been so.

19:9  And I say to you, that whoever shall put away his wife, except [it be ]for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marrying a divorcee commits adultery."

19:10  His disciples said to Him, "If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry."

19:11  But He said to them, "All cannot accept this saying, but [it is for those] to whom it has been given

11  And he said to them: “Not everyone is able to grasp this word, but only those to whom it has been given.

11  He said to them, This saying does not apply to every man, but to whom it is needed.

19:12  For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to accept [this], let him accept [it]."

12  For there are chaste persons who were born so from their mother’s womb, and there are chaste persons who have been made so by men, and there are chaste persons who have made themselves chaste for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to grasp this, let him grasp it.”

19:26  And looking on [them], Jesus said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

26  But Jesus, gazing at them, said to them: “With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.”

19:28  So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the Regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
