And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.

And approaching Him, the tempter said, "If You are the Son of God, speak so that these stones may become bread."

And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.

But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.' "

And in response he said, “It has been written: ‘Not by bread alone shall man live, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,

and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels orders concerning you,' and, 'In their hands they will lift you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.' "

and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.

And he said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, that he will command his angels concerning you, and they will bear you up on their hands, so that even your foot may not strike a stone.

Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not tempt YHWH your God.' "

Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.

And he said to Him, "All these things will I give You, if You will fall down and worship me."

10  Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship YHWH your God, and Him alone you shall serve.' "

11  Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

17  From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

18  Now as He was walking alongside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

18  And while he was walking by the shore of the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter and his brother Andrew, who were casting nets into the sea, for they were fishermen.

24  And the report of Him went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all those who were ill, and [who were ]suffering with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

24  And reports of him went out to all of Syria, and they brought to him all those who had maladies, those who were in the grasp of various sicknesses and torments, and those who were in the hold of demons, and the mentally ill, and paralytics. And he cured them.

24  And his fame was heard throughout Syria; so they brought to him all who were badly afflicted with divers sickness, and those who were tormented with pains, and the insane, and the epileptics, and the cripples; and he healed them.

25  And large crowds followed Him from Galilee and from Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
