1  A Psalm of David. Judge me, O YHWH, for I have walked in mine integrity, and I have trusted in YHWH without wavering.

1  Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Judge me, Lord, for I have been walking in my innocence, and by hoping in the Lord, I will not be weakened.

1  JUDGE me, O LORD; for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not waver.

2  Examine me, O YHWH, and try me; test my reins and my heart.

2  Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.

3  For Thy mercy is before mine eyes; and I have walked in Thy truth.

3  For your mercy is before my eyes, and I am serene in your truth.

3  For thy lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in thy faith.

4  I have not sat with men of falsehood; neither will I go in with dissemblers.

5  I hate the gathering of evil doers, and will not sit with the wicked.

5  I have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly men.

5  I have hated the congregation of evildoers; and have not sat with the wicked.

6  I will wash my hands in innocency; so will I compass Thine altar, O YHWH,

6  I have washed my hands clean, and I have gone around thy altar, O LORD,

7  That I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and tell of all Thy wondrous works.

7  to hear the voice of praise, and to declare all thy wonderful works.

7  so that I may hear the voice of your praise and describe all your wonders.

8  YHWH, I love the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thy glory dwelleth.

8  O Lord, I have loved the beauty of thy house, and the place of the tabernacle of thy glory.

8  LORD, I have loved the ritual of thy house and the place where thy glory dwelleth.

9  Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood;

9  Destroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men

9  O God, do not let my soul perish with the impious, nor my life with the men of blood,

10  In whose hands is craftiness, and their right hand is full of bribes.

11  But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity; redeem me, and be gracious unto me.

12  My foot standeth in an even place; in the congregations will I bless YHWH.

27:1  A Psalm of David. YHWH is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The YHWH is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

1  The Lord is my light and my Saviour; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

1  THE LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

27:2  When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

2  Meanwhile, the guilty draw near to me, so as to eat my flesh. Those who trouble me, my enemies, have themselves been weakened and have fallen.

27:3  Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise up against me, even then will I be confident.

3  Though an army should set itself in array against me, my heart shall not be afraid: though war should rise up against me, in this am I confident.

3  If entrenched armies were to stand together against me, my heart would not fear. If a battle were to rise up against me, I would have hope in this.

27:4  One thing have I asked of YHWH, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the YHWH all the days of my life, to behold the graciousness of the LORD, and to visit early in His temple.

27:5  For He concealeth me in His pavilion in the day of evil; He hideth me in the covert of His tent; He lifteth me up upon a rock.

5  For in the day of mine afflictions he hid me in his tabernacle: he sheltered me in the secret of his tabernacle; he set me up on a rock.

27:6  And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in His tabernacle sacrifices with trumpet-sound; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto YHWH.

6  And now, behold, he has lifted up mine head over mine enemies: I went round and offered in his tabernacle the sacrifice of joy; I will sing even sing psalms to the Lord.

6  He has exalted me upon the rock, and now he has exalted my head above my enemies. I have circled around and offered a sacrifice of loud exclamation in his tabernacle. I will sing, and I will compose a psalm, to the Lord.

27:7  Hear, O YHWH, when I call with my voice, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.

7  Hear, O Lord, my voice which I have uttered aloud: pity me, and hearken to me.

7  Hear my voice, O Lord, with which I have cried out to you. Have mercy on me, and hear me.

27:8  In Thy behalf my heart hath said: 'Seek ye My face'; Thy face, YHWH, will I seek.

8  My heart said to thee, I have diligently sought thy face: thy face, O Lord, I will seek.

8  My heart has spoken to you; my face has sought you. I yearn for your face, O Lord.

27:9  Hide not Thy face from me; put not Thy servant away in anger; Thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

9  Turn not thy face away from me, turn not thou away from thy servant in anger: be thou my helper, forsake me not; and, O God my Saviour, overlook me not.

9  Do not turn your face away from me. In your wrath, do not turn aside from your servant. Be my helper. Do not abandon me, and do not despise me, O God, my Saviour.

27:10  For though my father and my mother have forsaken me, YHWH will take me up.

10  For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord has taken me to himself.

10  Although my father and my mother have deserted me, the LORD has taken me up.

27:11  Teach me Thy way, O YHWH; and lead me in an even path, because of them that lie in wait for me.

11  Teach me, O Lord, in thy way, and guide me in a right path, because of mine enemies.

27:12  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.

12  Do not surrender me to the souls of those who trouble me. For unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and iniquity has lied to itself.

27:13  If I had not believed to look upon the goodness of YHWH in the land of the living!--

13  I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

13  But I have believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

27:14  Wait on YHWH; be strong, and let thy heart take courage; yea, wait thou for the YHWH.

14  Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and let thy heart be strengthened: yea wait on the Lord.

14  Trust in the LORD, and be of good courage; yea, trust in the LORD.

28:1  A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O YHWH, do I call; my Rock, be not Thou deaf unto me; lest, if Thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

1  UNTO thee have I cried, O my God; be not silent to me, lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

28:2  Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto Thee, when I lift up my hands toward Thy holy Sanctuary.

2  Hearken to the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy temple.

28:3  Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity; who speak peace with their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.

3  Draw not away my soul with sinners, and destroy me not with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace with their neighbours, but evils are in their hearts.

3  Do not draw me away together with sinners; and let me not perish with those who work iniquity, who speak peacefully to their neighbor, yet evils are in their hearts.

28:4  Give them according to their deeds, and according to the evil of their endeavours; give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

4  Give to them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Assign to them according to the works of their hands. Repay them with their own retribution.

4  Reward them according to their deeds and according to their evil doings.

28:5  Because they give no heed to the works of YHWH, nor to the operation of His hands; He will break them down and not build them up.

5  Because they have not attended to the works of the Lord, even to the works of his hands, thou shalt pull them down, and shalt not build them up.

5  Since they have not understood the works of the Lord and the works of his hands, you will destroy them, and you will not build them up.

28:6  Blessed be YHWH, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications.

6  Blessed be the Lord, for he has hearkened to the voice of my petition.

28:7  YHWH is my strength and my shield, in Him hath my heart trusted, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, and with my song will I praise Him.

7  The Lord is my helper and my defender; my heart has hoped in him, and I am helped: my flesh has revived, and willingly will I give praise to him.

7  The LORD is my helper and my protector; my heart trusted in him, and I am happy; I will praise him with glorious song.

28:8  YHWH is a strength unto them; and He is a stronghold of salvation to His anointed.

8  The Lord is the strength of his people, and the saving defender of his anointed.

28:9  Save Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance; and tend them, and carry them for ever.

9  O Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance, and reign over them and exalt them, even unto eternity.

29:1  A Psalm of David. Ascribe unto YHWH, O ye sons of might, ascribe unto the YHWH glory and strength.

1  Bring to the Lord, ye sons of God, bring to the Lord young rams; bring to the Lord glory and honour.

1  BRING unto the LORD the offspring of rams; bring unto the LORD glory and honour.

29:2  Ascribe unto YHWH the glory due unto His name; worship the YHWH in the beauty of holiness.

2  Bring to the Lord glory, due to his name; worship the lord in his holy court.

2  Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the court of his holy temple.

29:3  The voice of YHWH is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, even the YHWH upon many waters.

Ps28:2  The voice of the Lord is over the waters. The God of majesty has thundered. The Lord is over many waters.

29:4  The voice of YHWH is powerful; the voice of the YHWH is full of majesty.

Ps28:3  The voice of the Lord is in virtue. The voice of the Lord is in magnificence.

29:5  The voice of YHWH breaketh the cedars; yea, the YHWH breaketh in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

5  There is the voice of the Lord who breaks the cedars; the Lord will break the cedars of Libanus.

Ps28:4  The voice of the Lord shatters the cedars. And the Lord will shatter the cedars of Lebanon.

29:6  He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild-ox.

6  And he will beat them small, even Libanus itself, like a calf; and the beloved one is as a young unicorn.

Ps28:5  And it will break them into pieces, like a calf of Lebanon, and in the same way as the beloved son of the single-horned beast.

29:7  The voice of YHWH heweth out flames of fire.

7  There is a voice of the Lord who divides a flame of fire.

29:8  The voice of YHWH shaketh the wilderness; the YHWH shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

8  A voice of the Lord who shakes the wilderness; the Lord will shake the wilderness of Cades.

Ps28:7  The voice of the Lord shakes the desert. And the Lord will quake the desert of Kadesh.

29:9  The voice of YHWH maketh the hinds to calve, and strippeth the forests bare; and in His temple all say: 'Glory.'

9  The voice of the Lord strengthens the hinds, and will uncover the thickets: and in his temple every one speaks of his glory.

Ps28:8  The voice of the Lord is preparing the stags, and he will reveal the dense woods. And in his temple, all will speak his glory.

29:10  YHWH sat enthroned at the flood; yea, YHWH sitteth as King for ever.

10  The Lord will dwell on the waterflood: and the Lord will sit a king for ever.

29:11  YHWH will give strength unto His people; YHWH will bless his people with peace.

11  The Lord will give strength to his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
