1  Give ear to my words, O YHWH, consider my meditation.

title  For the end, a Psalm of David, concerning her that inherits.

1  Hearken to my words, O Lord, attend to my cry.

title  Unto the end. For her who pursues the inheritance. A Psalm of David.

1  O Lord, listen closely to my words. Understand my outcry.

2  Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; for unto Thee do I pray.

2  Attend to the voice of my supplication, my King, and my God: for to thee, O Lord, will I pray.

3  O YHWH, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward.

Ps5:3  For to you, I will pray. In the morning, Lord, you will hear my voice.

4  For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee.

Ps5:4  In the morning, I will stand before you, and I will see. For you are not a God who wills iniquity.

5  The boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

5  Neither shall the transgressors continue in thy sight: thou hatest, O Lord, all them that work iniquity.

Ps5:5  And the malicious will not dwell close to you, nor will the unjust endure before your eyes.

6  Thou destroyest them that speak falsehood; YHWH abhorreth the man of blood and of deceit.

Ps5:6  You hate all who work iniquity. You will destroy all who speak a lie. The bloody and deceitful man, the Lord will abominate.

7  But as for me, in the abundance of Thy lovingkindness will I come into Thy house; I will bow down toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee.

7  But I will enter into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy: I will worship in thy fear toward thy holy temple.

Ps5:7  But I am in the multitude of your mercy. I will enter your house. I will show adoration toward your holy temple, in your fear.

8  O YHWH, lead me in Thy righteousness because of them that lie in wait for me; make Thy way straight before my face.

8  Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way plain before thy face.

Ps5:8  Lord, lead me in your justice. Because of my enemies, direct my way in your sight.

9  For there is no sincerity in their mouth; their inward part is a yawning gulf, their throat is an open sepulchre; they make smooth their tongue.

9  For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain; their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit.

10  Hold them guilty, O God, let them fall by their own counsels; cast them down in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against Thee.

10  Judge them, O God; let them fail of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked thee, O Lord.

Ps5:10  Their throat is an open sepulcher. They have acted deceitfully with their tongues. Judge them, O God. Let them fall by their own intentions: according to the multitude of their impiety, expel them. For they have provoked you, O Lord.

11  So shall all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice, they shall ever shout for joy, and Thou shalt shelter them; let them also that love Thy name exult in Thee.

11  But let all that trust on thee be glad in thee: they shall exult for ever, and thou shalt dwell among them; and all that love thy name shall rejoice in thee.

Ps5:11  But let all those who hope in you rejoice. They will exult in eternity, and you will dwell in them. And all those who love your name will glory in you.

12  For Thou dost bless the righteous; O YHWH, Thou dost encompass him with favour as with a shield.

Ps5:12  For you will bless the just. You have crowned us, O Lord, as if with a shield of your good will.

12  For thou wilt bless the righteous; O LORD, thou hast adorned me like a perfect shield.
