The Bible in Its Traditions

Romans 1:0; 10:1–21

Brothers, the good pleasure of my heart and my supplication to God on behalf of Israel, is for [their] salvation.

Brethren, my heart`s desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved.

Byz Nes V TR

For I testify concerning them, that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

For I can testify for them that there is in them a zeal for God, but not according to the true knowledge.

Byz TR Nes V S

For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Byz Nes S TR

For Christ is the end of [the] law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

For the end of the law, Christ, is unto justice for all who believe.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which [is] of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

And Moses wrote, about the justice that is of the law, that the man who will have done justice shall live by justice.

But the righteousness of faith says, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who shall ascend into heaven?' "(that is, to bring Christ down)

But the justice that is of faith speaks in this way: Do not say in your heart: “Who shall ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down);

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

Byz Nes V TR

or, "'Who shall descend into the abyss?' "(that is, to bring up Christ from the dead).

And who has descended into the abyss of Sheol and brought up Christ from the dead?

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"(that is, the word of faith which we proclaim)

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach

that if you confess with your mouth YHWH Jesus and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved

Byz Nes V TR

10  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

10  For the heart which believes in him, shall be declared righteous, and the mouth that confesses him shall live.

Byz Nes S TR

11  For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him shall not be put to shame."

11  For Scripture says: “All those who believe in him shall not be confounded.”

Byz Nes V TR

12  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him.

12  And in this, it does not discriminate between the Jews and the Syrians: for the same LORD over all is rich unto all who call upon him.

Byz Nes TR

13  For "whosoever shall call upon the name of YHWH shall be saved."

13  For all those who have called upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Byz Nes TR

14  How then shall they call on Him in[ ]whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear apart from a preacher?

14  Then in what way will those who have not believed in him call upon him? Or in what way will those who have not heard of him believe in him? And in what way will they hear of him without preaching?

14  How then can they call on him on whom they have not believed? Or how can they believe on him whom they have never heard? Or how can they hear without a preacher?

Byz TR Nes

15  And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, of those preaching the gospel of good things!"

15  And truly, in what way will they preach, unless they have been sent, just as it has been written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who evangelize peace, of those who evangelize what is good!”

15  Or how can they preach, if they are not sent forth? As it is written, How becoming are the feet of those who preach peace, and of those who bring good tidings.

Byz TR Nes V

16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"

16  For all have not heard the preaching of the gospel. For Isaiah said, My LORD, who has believed the echoes of our voice?

17  So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by [the] word of God.

17  So belief [cometh] of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

17  Therefore, faith is from hearing, and hearing is through the Word of Christ.

Byz Nes S TR

18  But I say, have they not heard? Yes, indeed [they have]: "Their voice went out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."

18  But I say: Have they not heard? For certainly: “Their sound has gone forth throughout all the earth, and their words unto the limits of the whole world.”

Byz Nes TR

19  But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: "I will provoke you to jealousy by [those who are] not a nation, by a foolish nation I will anger you."

19  But I say: Has Israel not known? First, Moses says: “I will lead you into a rivalry with those who are not a nation; in the midst of a foolish nation, I will send you into wrath.”

19  But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses spoke thus, I will provoke you to jealousy by a people that are not my people, and I will make you angry by a reckless people.

Byz TR Nes TR V S

20  But Isaiah is very bold and says: "I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me."

21  But to Israel he says: "the whole day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people."

21  But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

21  Then to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out my hands to a people who do not believe and who contradict me.”
