Romans 12:0; 13:1–14

Byz

Let every soul submit to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the [powers] that be are ordained of God.

Consequently the [one] resisting the authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and those opposing shall receive judgment to themselves.

Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.

And so, whoever resists authority, resists what has been ordained by God. And those who resist are acquiring damnation for themselves.

For rulers are not a fear to good works, but to evil. And do you wish not to fear the authority?[ ]Do what is good, and you shall have praise from the same.

For leaders are not a source of fear to those who work good, but to those who work evil. And would you prefer not to be afraid of authority? Then do what is good, and you shall have praise from them.

For judges are not a menace to good works, but to evil. Now if you do not wish to be afraid of the authority, then do good, and you will be praised for it.

For he is God's servant to you for good. But if you do evil, fear; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's servant, an avenger for wrath to the [one] practicing evil.

for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.

For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is wrong, be afraid; for he is not girded with the sword in vain; for he is the minister of God, and an avenger of wrath upon those who commit crime.

Therefore it is necessary to be subject, not only on account of wrath, but also for conscience' sake.

For this reason, it is necessary to be subject, not solely because of wrath, but also because of conscience.

Wherefore, we must be obedient, not only in fear of wrath, but also for our conscience sake.

For on account of this you also pay taxes, for they are ministers of God, always giving attention to this very thing.

Therefore, you must also offer tribute. For they are the ministers of God, serving him in this.

Render therefore to all their dues: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

Therefore, render to all whatever is owed. Taxes, to whom taxes is due; revenue, to whom revenue is due; fear, to whom fear is due; honor, to whom honor is due.

Render therefore, to every one as is due to him: head tax to him who is in charge of head tax, duty to him who is in charge of custom; reverence to whom reverence is due, and honor to whom honor is due.

Owe nothing to no one, except to love one another, for he who loves one another has fulfilled the law.

Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law.

You should owe nothing to anyone, except so as to love one another. For whoever loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

For, "You shall not commit adultery,""You shall not murder,""You shall not steal,""You shall not covet,"and [if ]there is any other commandment, in this word it is summed up, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

For example: You shall not commit adultery. You shall not kill. You shall not steal. You shall not speak false testimony. You shall not covet. And if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

10  Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

10  The love of neighbor does no harm. Therefore, love is the plenitude of the law.

10  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

11  And do this, knowing the time, that [it is] already[ the] hour for us to be roused out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we [first ]believed.

11  Know this also, that now is the time and the hour that we should awake from our sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

12  The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

12  The night has passed, and the day draws near. Therefore, let us cast aside the works of darkness, and be clothed with the armor of light.

13  Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelries and drinking bouts, not in orgies and debaucheries, not in strife and jealousy.

13  Let us walk becomingly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy.

13  Let us walk honestly, as in the daylight, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and sexual immorality, not in contention and envy.

14  But put on YHWH Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for [its] lusts.

14  Instead, be clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in its desires.

14  But clothe yourselves with our LORD Jesus Christ, and take no heed for the lusts of the flesh.
