1  I charge you therefore before God and YHWH Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead in accordance with His appearing and His kingdom

1  I testify before God, and before Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead through his return and his kingdom

1  I SOLEMNLY charge you before God, and our LORD Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead when his kingdom is come;

2  preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all patience and teaching.

3  For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears,

4  and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.

4  and certainly, they will turn their hearing away from the truth, and they will be turned toward fables.

5  You however be watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

5  But as for you, truly, be vigilant, laboring in all things. Do the work of an Evangelist, fulfilling your ministry. Show self-restraint.

6  For I am already being poured out [as a drink offering], and the time of my departure has arrived.

6  From henceforth I am ready to die, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7  I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

8  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which YHWH, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

8  As for the remainder, a crown of justice has been reserved for me, one which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to those who look forward to his return. Hurry to return to me soon.

9  Be diligent to come to me quickly.

14  Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May YHWH repay him according to his works;

17  But YHWH stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fulfilled, and all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18  And YHWH shall deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him [be] glory forever and ever. Amen!

18  The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] the glory forever and ever. Amen.
