1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show His servants the[ ]things which must come to pass quickly. And He made it known by sending it through His angel to His servant John,

2  who testified to the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many things as He saw, both the things that are and those that must happen after these.

2  who bare witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, [even] of all things that he saw.

3  Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep the things having been written in it; for the time is near.

3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein: for the time is at hand.

4  John, to the seven churches [which are] in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven-fold Spirit who is before His throne,

4  John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne;

5  and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood,

6  and He made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

6  and who has made us into a kingdom and into priests for God and for his Father. To him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

7  Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen!

7  Behold, he arrives with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, even those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth shall lament for themselves over him. Even so. Amen.

8  "I am the Alpha and the Omega,"says YHWH God, "He who is and He who was and He who is to come, The Almighty."

8  “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

9  I, John, your brother and partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Christ Jesus, came to be on the island that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

10  I was in [the ]Spirit on YHWH's Day, and I heard a loud voice like a trumpet behind me,

10  The Spirit of prophecy came upon me on the LORDÆS day, and I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and,

11  saying, "That which you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

12  And there I turned to see the voice which was speaking with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

12  And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And having turned I saw seven golden candlesticks;

12  And I turned around, so as to see the voice which was speaking with me. And having turned around, I saw seven golden lampstands.

13  and in the midst of the seven lampstands [stood One] like [the] Son of Man, having been clothed in a [robe] reaching to [His] feet and having been girded across [His] chest with a golden belt.

13  and in the midst of the candlesticks one like unto a son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about at the breasts with a golden girdle.

14  And His head and His hair were white, and like white wool, like snow, and His eyes [were ]like a flame of fire;

14  But his head and hair were bright, like white wool, or like snow; and his eyes were like a flame of fire;

14  His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15  And His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;

15  and his feet resembled shining brass, just as in a burning furnace; and his voice was like the voice of many waters.

16  He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was as the sun shining in its strength.

16  And in his right hand, he held the seven stars; and from his mouth went out a sharp two-edged sword; and his face was like the sun, shining with all its might.

16  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

17  And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as [if] dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last.

17  And when I had seen him, I fell at his feet, like one who is dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.

18  I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

18  and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

19  Write therefore the things which you saw, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.

19  Therefore, write the things which you have seen, and which are, and which must occur afterward

20  The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

2:1  "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He that holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands

1  Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

2:2  "I know your works, and your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you tested those who say that they are apostles and they are not, and you found them [to be ]liars;

2  I know thy works, and thy toil and patience, and that thou canst not bear evil men, and didst try them that call themselves apostles, and they are not, and didst find them false;

2  I know your works, and your hardship and patient endurance, and that you cannot stand those who are evil. And so, you have tested those who declare themselves to be Apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.

2:3  and you have endurance and you have born patiently on account of My name, and you did not become weary.

3  and thou hast patience and didst bear for my name`s sake, and hast not grown weary.

3  And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

2:4  Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

4  But I have [this] against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love.

2:5  Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; but if not, I am coming to you quickly and I will remove your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent.

5  Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will move thy candlestick out of its place, except thou repent.

5  And so, call to mind the place from which you have fallen, and do penance, and do the first works. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

2:6  But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

2:7  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of My God."'

7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

2:8  "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and came to life

8  And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

2:9  "I know your works, and your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but [are] a synagogue of Satan.

9  I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they art not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

9  I know your tribulation and your poverty, but you are rich, and that you are blasphemed by those who declare themselves to be Jews and are not, but who are a synagogue of Satan.

2:10  Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast [some] of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

10  Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

2:11  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall in no way be harmed by the second death."'

11  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

2:12  "And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, 'These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword

2:13  "I know your works, and where you live, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith in the days in which Antipas was My faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling.

13  I know where thou dwellest, [even] where Satan`s throne is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth.

2:14  But I have a few things against you, because you have there [some] who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, both to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.

2:15  Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, [which ]likewise[ I hate.]

15  So hast thou also some that hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans in like manner.

15  And you also have those who hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.

2:16  Repent therefore! Or else I will come to you quickly, and make war against them with the sword of My mouth.

16  So do penance to the same extent. If you do less, I will come to you quickly and I will fight against these ones with the sword of my mouth.

16  Repent; or else I will come to you very soon, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

2:17  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to him some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except he who receives it."'

17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knoweth but he that receiveth it.

17  Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white emblem, and on the emblem, a new name has been written, which no one knows, except the one who receives it.

2:18  "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass

18  And unto the angel of the church in Thya- tiÆra write: These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like unto a flame of fire, and whose feet are like fine brass from Lebanon;

2:19  "I know your works, and love, and faith and service, and your endurance; and your last works [are] greater than the first.

19  I know thy works, and thy love and faith and ministry and patience, and that thy last works are more than the first.

19  I know your works, and your faith and charity, and your ministry and patient endurance, and that your more recent works are greater than the earlier ones.

2:20  But I have [this] against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols.

20  Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you allowed that woman of yours Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

2:21  And I gave her time so that she might repent, and she does not wish to repent of her fornication.

21  And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

2:22  Behold, I am casting her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, if they do not repent of her works.

22  Behold, I will cast her onto a bed, and those who commit adultery with her shall be in a very great tribulation, unless they repent from their works.

2:23  I will kill her children by death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

23  And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.

23  And I will put her sons to death, and all the Churches shall know that I am the one who examines temperaments and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. But I say to you,

2:24  But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden.

24  and to the others who are at Thyatira: Whoever does not hold to this doctrine, and who has not ‘known the depths of Satan,’ as they say, I will not set any other weight upon you.

24  But I say unto you, the rest of you in Thy-a-tiÆra, those of you who do not have this doctrine, and those who have not known, as they say, the depths of Satan, that I will not put upon you another burden.

2:25  Only hold fast what you have till I come.

25  Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

25  Even so, that which you have, hold on to it until I return.

2:26  And he who overcomes, and he who keeps My works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations-

26  And whoever will prevail and will observe my works even unto the end, I will give to him authority over the nations.

2:27  'And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be smashed to pieces like clay vessels'-

27  And he shall rule them with an iron rod, and they shall be broken like the earthenware of a potter.

27  And he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron; like the vessels of the potter, they shall be shattered: even as I was disciplined by my Father.

2:28  as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star.

28  and I will give him the morning star.

28  The same I also have received from my Father. And I will give to him the morning star.

2:29  "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'

29  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

3:1  "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He that has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name, that you live, and you are dead.

1  And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

3:2  Be watchful, and keep that which remains, which you were about to cast out, for I have not found your works perfect before My God.

2  Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.

2  Be vigilant, and confirm the things that remain, lest they soon die out. For I do not find your works to be full in the sight of my God.

3:3  Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and by no means shall you know what hour I will come upon you.

3  Therefore, keep in mind the way that you have received and heard, and then observe it and repent. But if you will not be vigilant, I will come to you like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.

3  Remember, therefore, just as you have received and heard, so hold fast and repent. And if, therefore, you do not awake, I will come against you as a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.

3:4  You have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy.

4  But thou hast a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments: and they shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy.

3:5  He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and by no means shall I erase his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

5  Whoever prevails, so shall he be clothed in white vestments. And I will not delete his name from the Book of Life. And I will confess his name in the presence of my Father and in the presence of his Angels.

3:6  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'

6  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

3:7  "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says the Holy [One], the True [One,] "He who has the key of David, He that opens and no man shuts, except He that opens, and no man shall open."

7  And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth

3:8  "I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it; because you have a little strength and have kept My word, and you have not denied My name.

8  I know thy works (behold, I have set before thee a door opened, which none can shut), that thou hast a little power, and didst keep my word, and didst not deny my name.

3:9  Behold, I will give those of the synagogue of Satan, those who say they are Jews and are not, but they are lying-behold, I will compel them to come and bow down at your feet, and they shall know that I have loved you.

3:10  Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those that dwell upon the earth.

10  Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that [hour] which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

10  Since you have kept the word of my patient endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall overcome the whole world in order to test those living upon the earth.

3:11  I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no man may take your crown.

11  I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown.

11  Behold, I am approaching quickly. Hold on to what you have, so that no one may take your crown.

3:12  He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and by no means shall he go out any longer. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from heaven from My God. And My new name.

12  He that overcometh, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out thence no more: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and mine own new name.

3:13  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'

13  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

3:14  "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write, 'These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God

3:15  "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish [that] you were cold or hot.

15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

3:16  Therefore, since you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth.

16  So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

16  But because you are lukewarm and are neither cold nor hot, I will begin to vomit you out of my mouth.

3:17  Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'-and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked

17  For you declare, ‘I am wealthy, and I have been enriched further, and I have need of nothing.’ And you do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

3:18  I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been tried by fire, so that you may become rich; and white robes, so that you may be clothed, and the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and eye salve, so that you may anoint your eyes, in order that you may see.

18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.

18  I urge you to buy from me gold, tested by fire, so that you may be enriched and may be clothed in white vestments, and so that the shame of your nakedness may disappear. And anoint your eyes with an eye salve, so that you may see.

3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

19  Those whom I love, I rebuke and chastise. Therefore, be zealous and do penance.

19  I rebuke and chastise all those whom I love: be zealous, therefore, and repent.

3:20  Behold, I stand at the door and I am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and I will dine with him, and he with Me.

3:21  He that overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

21  Whoever prevails, I will grant to him to sit with me on my throne, just as I also have overcome and have sat down with my Father on his throne.

3:22  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' "

22  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

4:1  After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you the things which must occur after this."

4:2  Immediately I was in [the] Spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven (and One sitting on the throne)

2  Straightway I was in the Spirit: and behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting upon the throne;

2  And immediately I was in the Spirit. And behold, a throne had been placed in heaven, and there was One sitting upon the throne.

4:3  similar in appearance to a jasper and sardius stone, and there[ was] a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

4:4  Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw the twenty-four elders sitting, having been clothed in white robes; and on their heads[ were] crowns of gold.

4  And round about the throne [were] four and twenty thrones: and upon the thrones [I saw] four and twenty elders sitting, arrayed in white garments; and on their heads crowns of gold.

4:5  And from the throne proceeded lightnings and voices and thunders. And seven torches of fire [were] burning before His throne, which are seven spirits of God;

5  And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and noises: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

4:6  and before the throne [was something ]like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living beings full of eyes in front and in back.

6  And in view of the throne, there was something that seemed like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. And in the middle of the throne, and all around the throne, there were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and in back.

4:7  The first living being was like a lion, the second living being [was ]like a calf, the third living being had a face of a man, and the fourth living being was like a flying eagle.

7  And the first creature [was] like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face as of a man, and the fourth creature [was] like a flying eagle.

4:8  And the four living beings, each one having six wings apiece, were full of eyes around and within. And they never rest day or night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, He[ w]ho was, and who is, and who is to come!"

8  and the four living creatures, having each one of them six wings, are full of eyes round about and within: and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.

8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about it; and they were full of eyes within; and they had no rest day and night saying, Holy, holy, holy, the LORD God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come.

4:9  Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him that sits on the throne, to Him that lives forever and ever,

9  And while those living creatures were giving glory and honor and blessings to the One sitting upon the throne, who lives forever and ever,

9  And when those wild beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him who sat on the throne, who lives for ever and ever,

4:10  the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and they worship Him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying

10  the four and twenty elders shall fall down before him that sitteth on the throne, and shall worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and shall cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

4:11  "You are worthy, our Lord and God, the Holy [One], to receive the glory and the honor and the power; because You created all things, and by Your will they existed and they were created."

11  “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you have created all things, and they became and were created because of your will.”

11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
