17  But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

17  But as for you, most beloved, be mindful of the words which have been foretold by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

18  how they told you that in the last time there would be mockers, walking according to their own ungodly lusts.

19  These are those who cause divisions, wordly, devoid of [the] Spirit.

19  These are the ones who segregate themselves; they are animals, not having the Spirit.

19  These are those who prefer to associate with selfish people because they do not have the Spirit in them.

20  But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

20  But you, my beloved, build up yourselves anew in the holy faith through the Holy Spirit, by means of prayer.

21  keep yourselves in the love of God, anticipating the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

21  Keep ourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our LORD Jesus Christ and for the life which is ours forever.

22  And have mercy on some, making a distinction;

22  So certainly, reprove them, after they have been judged.

22  And on some of them whoever they may be, heap coals of fire

23  but others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment having been stained by the flesh.

23  Yet truly, save them, seizing them from the fire. And have mercy on others: in fear, hating even that which is of the flesh, the defiled garment.

23  And when they repent, have mercy on them with compassion; despise even a garment which is spotted with the things of the flesh.
