And when He got out of the boat, immediately there met Him from the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

And as he was departing from the boat, he was immediately met, from among the tombs, by a man with an unclean spirit,

who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one could bind him, not even with chains,

because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the shackles had been broken, and no one was able to subdue him.

For having been bound often with shackles and chains, he had broken the chains and smashed the shackles; and no one had been able to tame him.

Because whenever he was bound with fetters and chains, he broke the chains and cut the fetters, and no man could control him.

14  But those feeding the pigs fled, and they reported it in the city and in the country. And they came out to see what it was that had happened.

14  And those who fed them, fled, and told it in the city and also in the villages. So they went out to see what had happened.

15  Then they came to Jesus, and observed him who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and having been clothed and being of sound mind, and they were afraid.

15  And they come to Jesus, and behold him that was possessed with demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, [even] him that had the legion: and they were afraid.

15  And they came to Jesus. And they saw the man who had been troubled by the demon, sitting, clothed and with a sane mind, and they were afraid.
