1  HAPPY IS the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful.

1  Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of evil men.

2  But his delight is in the law of YHWH; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

3  And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper.

3  And he will be like a tree that has been planted beside running waters, which will provide its fruit in its time, and its leaf will not fall away, and all things whatsoever that he does will prosper.

4  Not so the wicked; but they are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

4  Not so the ungodly; —not so: but rather as the chaff which the wind scatters away from the face of the earth.

5  Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

5  Therefore, the impious will not prevail again in judgment, nor sinners in the council of the just.

6  For YHWH regardeth the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked shall perish.

6  For the Lord knows the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2:1  Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?

1  Wherefore did the heathen rage, and the nations imagine vain things?

1  Why have the Gentiles been seething, and why have the people been pondering nonsense?

2:2  The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against YHWH, and against His anointed

2:3  'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'

3  saying, Let us break through their bonds, and cast away their yoke from us.

3  “Let us shatter their chains and cast their yoke away from us.”

2:4  He that sitteth in heaven laugheth, YHWH hath them in derision.

4  He that dwells in the heavens shall laugh them to scorn, and the Lord shall mock them.

4  He who dwells in heaven will ridicule them, and the Lord will mock them.

2:5  Then will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure

5  Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath and say,

2:6  'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.'

6  Yet I have been appointed king by him over Zion, his holy mountain, preaching his precepts.

6  I have appointed my king over Zion, my holy mountain,

2:7  I will tell of the decree: YHWH said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee.

7  The Lord has said to me: You are my son, this day have I begotten you.

2:8  Ask of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession.

2:9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'

9  You will rule them with an iron rod, and you will shatter them like a potter’s vessel.

9  You shall shepherd them with a rod of iron; you shall break them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

2:10  Now therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth.

10  And now, O kings, understand. Receive instruction, you who judge the earth.

2:11  Serve YHWH with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

11  Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice in him with trembling.

2:12  Do homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.

12  Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and ye should perish from the righteous way: whensoever his wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in him.

3:1  YHWH, how many are mine adversaries become! Many are they that rise up against me.

1  O Lord, why are they that afflict me multiplied? many rise up against me.

1  O LORD, how my oppressors are increased! Many are they that rise up against me.

3:2  Many there are that say of my soul: 'There is no salvation for him in God.' Selah

2  Many say concerning my soul, There is no deliverance for him in his God. Pause.

Ps3:2  Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.”

3:3  But thou, O YHWH, art a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.

Ps3:3  But you, Lord, are my supporter, my glory, and the one who raises up my head.

3:4  With my voice I call unto YHWH, and He answereth me out of His holy mountain. Selah

4  I cried to the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy mountain. Pause.

Ps3:4  I have cried out to the Lord with my voice, and he has heard me from his holy mountain.

3:5  I lay me down, and I sleep; I awake, for YHWH sustaineth me.

5  I lay down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord will help me.

Ps3:5  I have slept, and I have been stupefied. But I awakened because the Lord has taken me up.

3:6  I am not afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

6  I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, who beset me round about.

Ps3:6  I will not fear the thousands of people surrounding me. Rise up, Lord. Save me, my God.

3:7  Arise, O YHWH; save me, O my God; for Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek, Thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.

7  Arise, Lord; deliver me, my God: for thou hast smitten all who were without cause mine enemies; thou hast broken the teeth of sinners.

Ps3:7  For you have struck all those who oppose me without cause. You have broken the teeth of sinners.

3:8  Salvation belongeth unto YHWH; Thy blessing be upon Thy people. Selah

8  Deliverance is the Lord’s, and thy blessing is upon thy people.

4:2  O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah

Ps4:2  Sons of men, how long will you be dull in heart, so that whatever you love is in vain, and whatever you seek is false?

2  Men, how long will you obscure my glory? how long will you love vanity? do you want deception forever?

4:3  But know that YHWH hath set apart the godly man as His own; the YHWH will hear when I call unto Him.

3  But know ye that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.

Ps4:3  And know this: the Lord has made wondrous his holy one. The Lord will heed me when I cry out to him.

4:4  Tremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah

4  Be ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts. Pause.

Ps4:4  Be angry, and do not be willing to sin. The things that you say in your hearts: be sorry for them on your beds.

4:5  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in YHWH.

Ps4:5  Offer the sacrifice of justice, and hope in the Lord. Many say, “Who reveals to us what is good?”

4:6  Many there are that say: 'Oh that we could see some good!' YHWH, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us.

6  Many say, Who will shew us good things? the light of thy countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.

Ps4:6  The light of your countenance, Lord, has been sealed upon us. You have given joy to my heart.

4:7  Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than when their corn and their wine increase.

Ps4:7  By the fruit of their grain, wine, and oil, they have been multiplied.

7  O LORD, thou hast put gladness in my heart more than in the time that their wheat and their wine and their oil increased.

4:8  In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for Thou, YHWH, makest me dwell alone in safety.

8  I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only hast caused me to dwell securely.

8  In peace itself, I will sleep and I will rest.

9  For you, O Lord, have established me singularly in hope.

5:2  Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; for unto Thee do I pray.

2  Attend to the voice of my supplication, my King, and my God: for to thee, O Lord, will I pray.

5:3  O YHWH, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward.

Ps5:3  For to you, I will pray. In the morning, Lord, you will hear my voice.

5:4  For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee.

Ps5:4  In the morning, I will stand before you, and I will see. For you are not a God who wills iniquity.

5:5  The boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

5  Neither shall the transgressors continue in thy sight: thou hatest, O Lord, all them that work iniquity.

Ps5:5  And the malicious will not dwell close to you, nor will the unjust endure before your eyes.

5:6  Thou destroyest them that speak falsehood; YHWH abhorreth the man of blood and of deceit.

Ps5:6  You hate all who work iniquity. You will destroy all who speak a lie. The bloody and deceitful man, the Lord will abominate.

5:7  But as for me, in the abundance of Thy lovingkindness will I come into Thy house; I will bow down toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee.

7  But I will enter into thine house in the multitude of thy mercy: I will worship in thy fear toward thy holy temple.

Ps5:7  But I am in the multitude of your mercy. I will enter your house. I will show adoration toward your holy temple, in your fear.

5:8  O YHWH, lead me in Thy righteousness because of them that lie in wait for me; make Thy way straight before my face.

8  Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make my way plain before thy face.

Ps5:8  Lord, lead me in your justice. Because of my enemies, direct my way in your sight.

5:9  For there is no sincerity in their mouth; their inward part is a yawning gulf, their throat is an open sepulchre; they make smooth their tongue.

9  For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain; their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit.

5:10  Hold them guilty, O God, let them fall by their own counsels; cast them down in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against Thee.

10  Judge them, O God; let them fail of their counsels: cast them out according to the abundance of their ungodliness; for they have provoked thee, O Lord.

Ps5:10  Their throat is an open sepulcher. They have acted deceitfully with their tongues. Judge them, O God. Let them fall by their own intentions: according to the multitude of their impiety, expel them. For they have provoked you, O Lord.

5:11  So shall all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice, they shall ever shout for joy, and Thou shalt shelter them; let them also that love Thy name exult in Thee.

11  But let all that trust on thee be glad in thee: they shall exult for ever, and thou shalt dwell among them; and all that love thy name shall rejoice in thee.

Ps5:11  But let all those who hope in you rejoice. They will exult in eternity, and you will dwell in them. And all those who love your name will glory in you.

5:12  For Thou dost bless the righteous; O YHWH, Thou dost encompass him with favour as with a shield.

Ps5:12  For you will bless the just. You have crowned us, O Lord, as if with a shield of your good will.

12  For thou wilt bless the righteous; O LORD, thou hast adorned me like a perfect shield.

6:2  Be gracious unto me, O YHWH, for I languish away; heal me, O LORD, for my bones are affrighted.

2  Pity me, O Lord; for I am weak: heal me, O Lord; for my bones are vexed.

Ps6:2  Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones have become disturbed,

6:3  My soul also is sore affrighted; and Thou, O YHWH, how long?

Ps6:3  and my soul has been very troubled. But as for you, Lord, when?

3  My soul is also troubled exceedingly but thou, O LORD, how long?

6:4  Return, O YHWH, deliver my soul; save me for Thy mercy's sake.

Ps6:4  Turn to me, Lord, and rescue my soul. Save me because of your mercy.

6:5  For in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the nether-world who will give Thee thanks?

5  For in death no man remembers thee: and who will give thee thanks in Hades?

Ps6:5  For there is no one in death who would be mindful of you. And who will confess to you in Hell?

6:6  I am weary with my groaning; every night make I my bed to swim; I melt away my couch with my tears.

6  I am wearied with my groaning; I shall wash my bed every night; I shall water my couch with tears.

Ps6:6  I have labored in my groaning. Every night, with my tears, I will wash my bed and drench my blanket.

6:7  Mine eye is dimmed because of vexation; it waxeth old because of all mine adversaries.

Ps6:7  My eye has been troubled by rage. I have grown old among all my enemies.

6:8  Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for YHWH hath heard the voice of my weeping.

Ps6:8  Scatter before me, all you who work iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.

6:9  YHWH hath heard my supplication; YHWH receiveth my prayer.

9  The Lord has hearkened to my petition; the Lord has accepted my prayer.

6:10  All mine enemies shall be ashamed and sore affrighted; they shall turn back, they shall be ashamed suddenly.

10  Let all mine enemies be put to shame and sore troubled: let them be turned back and grievously put to shame speedily.

Ps6:10  Let all my enemies be ashamed and together be greatly troubled. May they be converted and become ashamed very quickly.

7:2  Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

2  Lest at any time the enemy seize my soul as a lion, while there is none to ransom, nor to save.

2  Lest my soul be torn as by a lion, and there is no one to save me and to deliver me.

7:3  O YHWH my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;

3  O Lord my God, if I have done this; (if there is unrighteousness in my hands;)

Ps7:3  O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this

7:4  If I have requited him that did evil unto me, or spoiled mine adversary unto emptiness;

Ps7:4  if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies

4  If I have been vengeful to him that has done me evil, and if I have oppressed my enemies without a cause;

7:5  Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and tread my life down to the earth; yea, let him lay my glory in the dust. Selah

7:6  Arise, O YHWH, in Thine anger, lift up Thyself in indignation against mine adversaries; yea, awake for me at the judgment which Thou hast commanded.

6  Arise, O Lord, in thy wrath; be exalted in the utmost boundaries of mine enemies: awake, O Lord my God, according to the decree which thou didst command.

Ps7:6  Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,

7:7  And let the congregation of the peoples compass Thee about, and over them return Thou on high.

Ps7:7  and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.

7:8  O YHWH, who ministerest judgment to the peoples, judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

8  The Lord shall judge the nations: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my innocence that is in me.

Ps7:8  The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.

7:9  Oh that a full measure of evil might come upon the wicked, and that Thou wouldest establish the righteous; for the righteous God trieth the heart and reins.

9  Oh let the wickedness of sinners come to an end; and then thou shalt direct the righteous, O God that searchest the hearts and reins.

Ps7:9  The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.

7:10  My shield is with God, who saveth the upright in heart.

Ps7:10  Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.

10  O God who saveth the upright in heart, O righteous God, help me.

7:11  God is a righteous judge, yea, a God that hath indignation every day

Ps7:11  God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?

7:12  If a man turn not, He will whet His sword, He hath bent His bow, and made it ready;

Ps7:12  Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.

7:13  He hath also prepared for him the weapons of death, yea, His arrows which He made sharp.

13  And on it he has fitted the instruments of death; he has completed his arrows for the raging ones.

Ps7:13  And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.

7:14  Behold, he travaileth with iniquity; yea, he conceiveth mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.

Ps7:14  Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.

14  Because the wicked has become corrupt and has conceived mischief and brought forth falsehood,

7:15  He hath digged a pit, and hollowed it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.

Ps7:15  He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.

15  He has made a well, and deepened it, and is fallen into the pit which he made.

7:16  His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own pate.

16  His trouble shall return on his own head, and his unrighteousness shall come down on his own crown.

Ps7:16  His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.

7:17  I will give thanks unto YHWH according to His righteousness; and will sing praise to the name of the YHWH Most High.

Ps7:17  I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.

17  I will praise the LORD according to my righteousness; and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

8:2  Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou founded strength, because of Thine adversaries; that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Ps8:2  Out of the mouths of babes and infants, you have perfected praise, because of your enemies, so that you may destroy the enemy and the revenger.

8:3  When I behold Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast established;

3  For I will regard the heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and stars, which thou hast established.

Ps8:3  For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded.

8:4  What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him?

8:5  Yet Thou hast made him but little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

5  Thou madest him a little less than angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour;

Ps8:5  You reduced him to a little less than the Angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor,

8:6  Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under His feet

6  and thou hast set him over the works of thy hands: thou hast put all things under his feet

Ps8:6  and you have set him over the works of your hands.

8:7  Sheep and oxen, all of them, yea, and the beasts of the field;

Ps8:7  You have subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and in addition: the beasts of the field,

7  All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the wilderness;

8:8  The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea; whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

Ps8:8  the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, which pass through the paths of the sea.

8:9  O YHWH, our Lord, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth!

9  O Lord our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth!

Ps8:9  O Lord, our Lord, how admirable is your name throughout all the earth!

9:2  I will be glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Most High

Ps9:2  I will rejoice and exult in you. I will sing a psalm to your name, O Most High.

9:3  When mine enemies are turned back, they stumble and perish at Thy presence;

Ps9:3  For my enemy will be turned back. They will be weakened and perish before your face.

9:4  For Thou hast maintained my right and my cause; Thou sattest upon the throne as the righteous Judge.

Ps9:4  For you have accomplished my judgment and my cause. You have sat upon the throne that judges justice.

9:5  Thou hast rebuked the nations, Thou hast destroyed the wicked, Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

Ps9:5  You have rebuked the Gentiles, and the impious one has perished. You have deleted their name in eternity and for all generations.

9:6  O thou enemy, the waste places are come to an end for ever; and the cities which thou didst uproot, their very memorial is perished.

6  The swords of the enemy have failed utterly; and thou hast destroyed cities: their memorial has been destroyed with a noise,

6  My enemies have been annihilated by the sword for ever; and thou hast destroyed the villages and their very memory hath perished.

9:7  But YHWH is enthroned for ever; He hath established His throne for judgment.

7  but the Lord endures for ever: he has prepared his throne for judgement.

Ps9:7  But the Lord remains in eternity. He has prepared his throne in judgment.

9:8  And He will judge the world in righteousness, He will minister judgment to the peoples with equity.

8  And he shall judge the world in righteousness and the people in uprightness.

9:9  YHWH also will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble;

9  The Lord also is become a refuge for the poor, a seasonable help, in affliction.

Ps9:9  And the Lord has become a refuge for the poor, a helper in opportunity, in tribulation.

9:10  And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for thou, YHWH, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

10  And let them that know thy name hope in thee: for thou, O Lord, hast not failed them that diligently seek thee.

Ps9:10  And may they hope in you, who know your name. For you have not abandoned those seeking you, Lord.

9:11  Sing praises to YHWH, who dwelleth in Zion; declare among the peoples His doings.

Ps9:11  Sing a psalm to the Lord, who dwells in Zion. Announce his study among the Gentiles.

9:12  For He that avengeth blood hath remembered them; He hath not forgotten the cry of the humble.

12  For he remembered them, in making inquisition for blood: he has not forgotten the supplication of the poor.

Ps9:12  Because of those who yearned for their blood, he has remembered them. He has not forgotten the cry of the poor.

9:13  Be gracious unto me, O YHWH, behold mine affliction at the hands of them that hate me; Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;

13  Have mercy upon me, O Lord; look upon my affliction which I suffer of mine enemies, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death

Ps9:13  Have mercy on me, Lord. See my humiliation from my enemies.

9:14  That I may tell of all Thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, that I may rejoice in Thy salvation.

Ps9:14  You lift me up from the gates of death, so that I may announce all your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion.

9:15  The nations are sunk down in the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

15  The heathen are caught in the destruction which they planned: in the very snare which they hid is their foot taken.

Ps9:15  I will exult in your salvation. The Gentiles have become trapped in the ruin that they made. Their foot has been caught in the same snare that they themselves had hidden.

9:16  YHWH hath made Himself known, He hath executed judgment, the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah

16  The Lord is known as executing judgements: the sinner is taken in the works of his hands. A song of Pause.

16  The LORD makes known the judgment which he executes; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands.

9:17  The wicked shall return to the nether-world, even all the nations that forget God.

17  Let sinners be driven away into Hades, even all the nations that forget God.

Ps9:17  The sinners will be turned into Hell: all the Gentiles who have forgotten God.

9:18  For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever.

18  For the poor shall not be forgotten for ever: the patience of the needy ones shall not perish for ever.

Ps9:18  For the poor will not be forgotten in the end. The patience of the poor will not perish in the end.

9:19  Arise, O YHWH, let not man prevail; let the nations be judged in Thy sight.

19  Arise, O Lord, let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged before thee.

Ps9:19  Rise up, Lord: do not let man be strengthened. Let the Gentiles be judged in your sight.

9:20  Set terror over them, O YHWH; let the nations know they are but men. Selah

20  Appoint, O Lord, a lawgiver over them: let the heathen know that they are men. Pause.

10:2  Through the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued, they are taken in the devices that they have imagined.

Ps9:22  While the impious is arrogant, the poor is enflamed. They are held by the counsels that they devise.

10:3  For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and the covetous vaunteth himself, though he contemn YHWH.

3  Because the sinner praises himself for the desires of his heart; and the unjust one blesses himself.

Ps9:23  For the sinner is praised by the desires of his soul, and the iniquitous is blessed.

10:4  The wicked, in the pride of his countenance , saith : 'He will not require'; all his thoughts are: 'There is no God.'

4  The sinner has provoked the Lord: according to the abundance of his pride he will not seek after him : God is not before him.

10:5  His ways prosper at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight; as for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

5  His ways are profane at all times; thy judgements are removed from before him: he will gain the mastery over all his enemies.

Ps9:25  God is not before his sight. His ways are stained at all times. Your judgments are removed from his face. He will be master of all his enemies.

10:6  He saith in his heart: 'I shall not be moved, I who to all generations shall not be in adversity.'

6  For he has said in his heart, I shall not be moved, continuing without evil from generation to generation.

6  He says in his heart, I shall not be moved from generation to generation; for he conceives evil.

10:7  His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

7  Whose mouth is full of cursing, and bitterness, and fraud: under his tongue are trouble and pain.

10:8  He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in secret places doth he slay the innocent; his eyes are on the watch for the helpless.

8  He lies in wait with rich men in secret places, in order to slay the innocent: his eyes are set against the poor.

Ps9:28  He sits in ambush, with resources in hidden places, so that he may execute the innocent.

10:9  He lieth in wait in a secret place as a lion in his lair, he lieth in wait to catch the poor; he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him up in his net.

Ps9:29  His eyes catch sight of the poor. He lies in ambush, in hiding like a lion in his den. He lies in ambush, so that he may seize the poor, to seize the poor as he draws him in.

9  He lies in wait to snare the poor by drawing him into his net.

10:10  He croucheth, he boweth down, and the helpless fall into his mighty claws.

Ps9:30  With his snare, he will bring him down. He will crouch down and pounce, when he has power over the poor.

10  He shall be humbled and overthrown, and in his bones there shall be sickness and pain.

10:11  He hath said in his heart: 'God hath forgotten; He hideth His face; He will never see.'

11  For he has said in his heart, God has forgotten: he has turned away his face so as never to look.

11  He says in his heart, God has forgotten; he has turned away his face; he will never see it.

10:12  Arise, O YHWH; O God, lift up Thy hand; forget not the humble.

12  Arise, O Lord God; let thy hand be lifted up: forget not the poor.

Ps9:32  O Lord God, rise up. Let your hand be exalted. Do not forget the poor.

10:13  Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God, and say in his heart: 'Thou wilt not require'?

Ps9:33  How has the impious one provoked God? For he has said in his heart, “He will not inquire.”

13  Why does the wicked provoke God? He says in his heart, God does not seek vengeance.

10:14  Thou hast seen; for Thou beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite them with Thy hand; unto Thee the helpless committeth himself; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

14  Thou seest it; for thou dost observe trouble and wrath, to deliver them into thy hands: the poor has been left to thee; thou wast a helper to the orphan.

Ps9:34  You do see, for you examine hardship and sorrow, so that you may deliver them into your hands. The poor one has been abandoned to you. You will be a helper to the orphan.

10:15  Break Thou the arm of the wicked; and as for the evil man, search out his wickedness, till none be found.

Ps9:35  Break the arm of the sinner and the malicious. His sin will be sought, and it will not be found.

10:16  YHWH is King for ever and ever; the nations are perished out of His land.

16  The Lord shall reign for ever, even for ever and ever: ye Gentiles shall perish out his land.

16  The LORD is King for ever and ever; the Gentiles are perished out of his land.

10:17  YHWH, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt direct their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to attend;

17  The Lord has heard the desire of the poor: thine ear has inclined to the preparation of their heart;

17  LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the poor; thine ear hath heard the preparation of their heart;

10:18  To right the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may be terrible no more.
