2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
2 Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;
2 Pursue prayer. Be watchful in prayer with acts of thanksgiving.
3 praying at the same time also for us, that God would open a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, because of which I am also in chains,
3 And pray for us also, that God may open unto us a door for preaching, to speak the mystery of Christ for whose sake I am a prisoner
4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, redeeming the time.
5 Live wisely in peace with those who are outside the church, and avoid offending.
6 Let your word always be with grace, having been seasoned with salt, to know how you ought to answer each [one].
