And YHWH said unto Noah: 'Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before Me in this generation.

And the Lord God said to Noe, Enter thou and all thy family into the ark, for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

THEN God said to Noah, Enter into the ark; you and all your household, for you alone have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

And of the clean cattle take in to thee sevens, male and female, and of the unclean cattle pairs male and female.

From all the clean animals, take seven and seven, the male and the female. Yet truly, from animals that are unclean, take two and two, the male and the female.

And of clean flying creatures of the sky sevens, male and female, and of all unclean flying creatures pairs, male and female, to maintain seed on all the earth.

Likewise, of the fowls of the air that are clean seven pairs, both males and the females; to keep their posterity alive upon the face of the earth.

For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I blot out from off the face of the earth.'

For from that point, and after seven days, I will rain upon the earth for forty days and forty nights. And I will wipe away every substance that I have made, from the surface of the earth.”

And Noah did according unto all that YHWH commanded him.

Therefore, Noah did all things just as the Lord had commanded him.

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

And he was six hundred years old when the waters of the great flood inundated the earth.

10  And it came to pass after the seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

10  And when seven days had passed, the waters of the great flood inundated the earth.

M G V S Sam

11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

13  In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

13  On that very day entered Noe, Sem, Cham, Japheth, the sons of Noe, and the wife of Noe, and the three wives of his sons with him into the ark.

13  On the very same day, Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and his wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark.

14  they, and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after its kind, and every fowl after its kind, every bird of every sort.

14  And all the wild beasts after their kind, and all cattle after their kind, and every reptile moving itself on the earth after its kind, and every flying bird after its kind,

14  They and every animal according to its kind, and all the cattle in their kind, and everything that moves upon the earth in their kind, and every flying thing according to its kind, all the birds and all that can fly,

M Sam V

15  And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh wherein is the breath of life.

15  went in to Noe into the ark, pairs, male and female of all flesh in which is the breath of life.

M G S Sam

16  And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; and YHWH shut him in.

16  And those that entered went in male and female, from all that is flesh, just as God had instructed him. And then the Lord closed him in from the outside.

17  And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bore up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth.

17  And the flood was upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and the water abounded greatly and bore up the ark, and it was lifted on high from off the earth.

17  And the great flood occurred for forty days upon the earth. And the waters were increased, and they lifted the ark high above the land.

M G S Sam
V

18  And the waters prevailed, and increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

18  For they overflowed greatly, and they filled everything on the surface of the earth. And then the ark was carried across the waters.

M G V S Sam

19  And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high mountains that were under the whole heaven were covered.

M G S Sam

20  Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

20  The water was fifteen cubits higher than the mountains which it covered.

M Sam G

21  And all flesh perished that moved upon the earth, both fowl, and cattle, and beast, and every swarming thing that swarmeth upon the earth, and every man;

21  And all flesh was consumed which moved upon the earth: flying things, animals, wild beasts, and all moving things that crawl upon the ground. And all men,

M Sam

22  all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, whatsoever was in the dry land, died.

22  And all things which have the breath of life, and whatever was on the dry land, died.

22  and everything in which there is the breath of life on earth, died.

M G S Sam
V

23  And He blotted out every living substance which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and creeping thing, and fowl of the heaven; and they were blotted out from the earth; and Noah only was left, and they that were with him in the ark.

23  And he wiped away all substance that was upon the earth, from man to animal, the crawling things just as much as the flying things of the air. And they were wiped away from the earth. But only Noah remained, and those who were with him in the ark.

M G V S Sam

24  And the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days.

M S Sam
G

8:1  And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

And God remembered Noe, and all the wild beasts, and all the cattle, and all the birds, and all the reptiles that creep, as many as were with him in the ark, and God brought a wind upon the earth, and the water stayed.

Then God remembered Noah, and all living things, and all the cattle, which were with him in the ark, and he brought a wind across the earth, and the waters were diminished.

M S Sam
G V

8:2  the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

And the fountains of the deep were closed up, and the flood-gates of heaven, and the rain from heaven was withheld.

M S Sam
G

8:3  And the waters returned from off the earth continually; and after the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.

And the water subsided, and went off the earth, and after an hundred and fifty days the water was diminished, and the ark rested in the seventh month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.

And the waters were restored to their coming and going from the earth. And they began to diminish after one hundred and fifty days.

M V S Sam

8:4  And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

And the water continued to decrease until the tenth month.

M S Sam

8:5  And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

And in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the heads of the mountains were seen.

Yet in truth, the waters were departing and decreasing until the tenth month. For in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tips of the mountains appeared.

M G S Sam

8:6  And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

And when forty days had passed, Noah, opening the window that he had made in the ark, sent forth a raven,

8:7  And he sent forth a raven, and it went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

which went forth and did not return, until the waters were dried up across the earth.

8:8  And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground.

Likewise, he sent forth a dove after him, in order to see if the waters had now ceased upon the face of the earth.

M S Sam
G
V

8:9  But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth; and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into the ark.

And the dove not having found rest for her feet, returned to him into the ark, because the water was on all the face of the earth, and he stretched out his hand and took her, and brought her to himself into the ark.

But when she did not find a place where her foot might rest, she returned to him in the ark. For the waters were upon the whole earth. And he extended his hand and caught her, and he brought her into the ark.

M S Sam
G V

8:10  And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.

10  And having waited yet seven other days, he again sent forth the dove from the ark.

M G S Sam
V

8:11  And the dove came in to him at eventide; and lo in her mouth an olive-leaf freshly plucked; so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

11  And she came to him in the evening, carrying in her mouth an olive branch with green leaves. Noah then understood that the waters had ceased upon the earth.

8:12  And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; and she returned not again unto him any more.

12  And nevertheless, he waited another seven days. And he sent forth the dove, which no longer returned to him.

8:13  And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dried.

13  Therefore, in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the waters were diminished upon the earth. And Noah, opening the cover of the ark, gazed out and saw that the surface of the earth had become dry.

19  Then also all living things, and the cattle, and the animals that move upon the earth, according to their kinds, departed from the ark.

8:20  And Noah builded an altar unto YHWH; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar.

20  And Noe built an altar to the Lord, and took of all clean beasts, and of all clean birds, and offered a whole burnt-offering upon the altar.

20  Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. And, taking from each of the cattle and birds that were clean, he offered holocausts upon the altar.

8:21  And YHWH smelled the sweet savour; and the YHWH said in His heart: 'I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

21  And the Lord God smelled a smell of sweetness, and the Lord God having considered, said, I will not any more curse the earth, because of the works of men, because the imagination of man is intently bent upon evil things from his youth, I will not therefore any more smite all living flesh as I have done.

21  And the Lord smelled the sweet odor and said: “I will no longer curse the earth because of man. For the feelings and thoughts of the heart of man are prone to evil from his youth. Therefore, I will no longer pierce every living soul as I have done.
