1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw YHWH sitting upon a throne high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
1 And it came to pass in the year in which king Ozias died, that I saw the Lord sitting on a high and exalted throne, and the house was full of his glory.
1 In the year in which king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, sublime and exalted, and the things that were under him filled the temple.
2 Above Him stood the seraphim; each one had six wings: with twain he covered his face and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
2 And seraphs stood round about him: each one had six wings: and with two they covered their face, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.
2 The Seraphims were standing above the throne. One had six wings, and the other had six wings: with two they were covering his face, and with two they were covering his feet, and with two they were flying.
3 And one called unto another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, is YHWH of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.
3 And they were crying out to one another, and saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory!”
4 And the posts of the door were moved at the voice of them that called, and the house was filled with smoke.
4 And the lintel shook at the voice they uttered, and the house was filled with smoke.
4 And the lintels above the hinges were shaken at the voice of the one crying out. And the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I: Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, YHWH of hosts.
5 And I said, Woe is me, for I am pricked to the heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I dwell in the midst of a people having unclean lips; and I have seen with mine eyes the King, the Lord of hosts.
5 Then I said, Woe is me, I am dismayed; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6 Then flew unto me one of the seraphim, with a glowing stone in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;
6 And there was sent to me one of the seraphs, and he had in his hand a coal, which he had taken off the altar with the tongs
6 And one of the Seraphims flew to me, and in his hand was a burning coal, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7 and he touched my mouth with it, and said: Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin expiated.
8 And I heard the voice of YHWH, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: 'Here am I; send me.'
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go to this people? And I said, behold, I am here, send me. And he said, Go, and say to this people,
9 And He said: 'Go, and tell this people: hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
9 Ye shall hear indeed, but ye shall not understand; and ye shall see indeed, but ye shall not perceive.
9 And he said: “Go forth! And you shall say to this people: ‘When you listen, you will hear and not understand. And when you see a vision, you will not comprehend.’
