Happy is he that considereth the poor; YHWH will deliver him in the day of evil.

title  For the end, a Psalm of David.

Blessed is the man who thinks, on the poor and needy: the Lord shall deliver him in an evil day.

BLESSED is he who looks after the poor; the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

YHWH preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.

May the Lord preserve him and keep him alive, and bless him on the earth, and not deliver him into the hands of his enemy.

The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, and he shall bless him upon the earth; he will not deliver him into the hands of his enemies.

As for me, I said: 'O YHWH, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'

I said, O Lord, have mercy upon me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.

Ps40:6  And when he came in to see me, he was speaking emptiness. His heart gathered iniquity to itself. He went outside, and he was speaking in the same way.

When they come to see me, they speak falsely and their hearts devise evil; they go out into the street and gossip about me.

Ps40:7  All my enemies were whispering against me. They were thinking up evils against me.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

For even the man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, lifted up his heel against me.

Yea, even the man who visits me, in whom I trust, who eats my bread and whom I trust, betrays me.

10  But Thou, O YHWH, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Ps40:10  But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up again. And I will requite them.

11  By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Ps40:11  By this, I knew that you preferred me: because my adversary will not rejoice over me.

12  And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.

12  But thou didst help me because of mine innocence, and hast established me before thee for ever.

Ps40:12  But you have sustained me, because of my innocence, and you have confirmed me in your sight in eternity.

13  Blessed be YHWH, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

13  Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. So be it, so be it.

Ps40:13  Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for all generations and even forever. Amen. Amen.
