1  A Psalm of David. Bless YHWH, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

1  To David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and bless his holy name, all that is within me.

2  Bless YHWH, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits;

2  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his praises

3  Who forgiveth all thine iniquity; who healeth all Thy diseases;

3  who forgives all thy transgressions, who heals all thy diseases;

3  He forgives all your iniquities. He heals all your infirmities.

4  Who redeemeth Thy life from the pit; who encompasseth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

4  who redeems thy life from corruption; who crowns thee with mercy and compassion;

4  Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

5  Who satisfieth thine old age with good things; so that Thy youth is renewed like the eagle.

5  He satisfies your desire with good things. Your youth will be renewed like that of the eagle.

5  Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6  YHWH executeth righteousness, and acts of justice for all that are oppressed.

6  The Lord executes mercy and judgement for all that are injured.

6  The Lord accomplishes mercies, and his judgment is for all who patiently endure injuries.

7  He made known His ways unto Moses, His doings unto the children of Israel.

7  He has made his ways known to Moses, his will to the sons of Israel.

8  YHWH is full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

8  The Lord is compassionate and pitiful, long-suffering, and full of mercy.

9  He will not always contend; neither will He keep His anger for ever.

10  He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor requited us according to our iniquities.

10  He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor recompensed us according to our iniquities.

11  For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.

11  For according to the height of the heavens above the earth, so has he reinforced his mercy toward those who fear him.

12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.

13  Like as a father hath compassion upon his children, so hath YHWH compassion upon them that fear Him.

13  As a father pities his children, the Lord pities them that fear him.

13  As a father is compassionate to his sons, so has the Lord been compassionate to those who fear him.

14  For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust.

14  For he knows our form. He has called to mind that we are dust.

15  As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

15  Man: his days are like hay. Like the flower of the field, so will he flourish.

16  For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof knoweth it no more.

16  For the spirit in him will pass away, and it will not remain, and he will know his place no longer.

17  But the mercy of YHWH is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children;

17  But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity, and even unto eternity, upon those who fear him. And his justice is with the sons of the sons,

18  To such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His precepts to do them.

18  to them that keep his covenant, and remember his commandments to do them.

18  with those who serve his covenant and have been mindful of his commandments by doing them.

19  YHWH hath established His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all.

19  The Lord has prepared his throne in the heaven; and his kingdom rules over all.

20  Bless YHWH, ye angels of His, ye mighty in strength, that fulfil His word, hearkening unto the voice of His word.

20  Bless the Lord, all ye his angels, mighty in strength, who perform his bidding, ready to hearken to the voice of his words.

21  Bless YHWH, all ye His hosts; ye ministers of His, that do His pleasure.

21  Bless the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his that do his will.

22  Bless YHWH, all ye His works, in all places of His dominion; bless the YHWH, O my soul.

22  Bless the Lord, all his works: in every place of his dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul.
